Relationship between musculoskeletal pain and the level of anxiety in post-COVID-19 adults in a polyclinic in the city of Ica, Lima-Peru, 2023

Abstract

The study examined the relationship between musculoskeletal pain and anxiety in post-COVID adults at a polyclinic in Ica. Using an observational and correlational approach with 80 participants, the Nordic Kourinka questionnaire and Zung’s scale were used. Although no statistically significant relationship was found between the variables, an association was observed between the duration of musculoskeletal pain and anxiety. In summary, musculoskeletal pain does not appear to be directly related to the general level of anxiety in this specific context.

El estudio examinó la relación entre el dolor musculoesquelético y la ansiedad en adultos post Covid-19 en un policlínico de Ica. A través de un enfoque observacional y correlacional con 80 participantes, se utilizó el Cuestionario Nórdico de Kourinka y la escala de Zung. Aunque no se encontró una relación estadísticamente significativa entre las variables generales, se observó una asociación entre la duración del dolor musculoesquelético y la ansiedad. En resumen, el dolor musculoesquelético no parece estar directamente relacionado con el nivel general de ansiedad en este contexto específico.
