Prevalence of physical disability in older adult patients with knee arthrosis from the physical and neurological rehabilitation center - cerfineuro, period 2023

Abstract

Objective: To determine the prevalence of physical disability in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis at the Physical and Neurological Rehabilitation Center - Cerfineuro, period 2023. Materials and Methods: 124 patients treated during 2023. The sample consisted of 94 elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis. Results: Pain was very intense in 35.1%, followed by 28.7% intense, 27.7% moderate, and 8.5% mild. The largest percentage of elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis was 34% aged 75–79 years, followed by 27.7% aged 70–74 years, 20.2% aged 80–84 years, 14.9% aged 65–69 years, and 3.2% aged 60–64 years. Conclusions: The largest percentage of physical disability in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis was very intense, with the largest percentage of participants aged 75–79 years. The highest percentage of participants was female, and the prevalence of physical disability according to the age of elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis was very intense in the 75–79 age range.

Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia de discapacidad física en pacientes adultos mayores con artrosis de rodilla del Centro de Rehabilitación Física y Neurológica - Cerfineuro, periodo 2023. Materiales y Métodos: 124 pacientes que se atendieron durante el año 2023. La muestra conformada por 94 pacientes adultos mayores con artrosis de rodilla. Resultados: fue muy intensa con un 35.1%, seguida de 28.7% Intensa, el 27.7% Moderada y el 8.5% Ligera, mayor porcentaje de pacientes adultos mayores con artrosis de rodilla fue 34% con una edad de 75 – 79 años, seguido de 27.7% con edades de 70 – 74 años, 20.2% con edades de 80 – 84 años, 14.9% de 65 – 69 años y 3.2% de 60 – 64 años. Conclusiones: El mayor porcentaje de discapacidad física en pacientes adultos mayores con artrosis de rodilla fue muy intenso, el mayor porcentaje de participantes fue de las edades de 75 a 79 años, el mayor porcentaje de participantes fue del sexo Femenino y la prevalencia de discapacidad física según la edad de los pacientes adultos mayores con artrosis de rodilla fue muy intensa con un rango de edad de 75 a 79 años.
