Self-esteem and its relationship with self-care capacity in patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment in a private clinic, Lima 2022

Abstract

Introduction: The nursing professional fulfills essential functions in the care of patients, being able to modify behaviors for the benefit of their own health. Objective: To determine the relationship between self-esteem with the self-care capacity in patients with Hemodialysis in a private clinic, Lima 2022. Methods: This research is of a quantitative, applicative, non-experimental approach. The population is made up of 80 patients, who come to a private clinic in Lima for their hemodialysis treatment. We will not work with a sample since the total population is finite and accessible. The technique for data collection will be the survey, we will measure the level of Self-esteem which is the Rosemberg Scale (EAR) that contains 10 items, with Likert-type response of 4 points, which measure 2 dimensions: feeling of respect and self-acceptance. To measure the selfcare capacity, the instrument prepared by Meza Iris, Quispe Fanny, will be used. This instrument could measure the self-care capacity that was validated in 2017 and has a reliability of 0.87, validated by the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. The data Will be statistically processed with Spearman’s correlation coefficient using figures and tables.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación de la autoestima con la capacidad de autocuidado en pacientes con Hemodiálisis en una clínica privada, Lima 2022. Métodos: Esta investigación es de enfoque cuantitativo, aplicativo, no experimental. La población está constituida por 80 pacientes, que acuden a realizar su tratamiento de hemodiálisis a una clínica privada de Lima, no se trabajará con una muestra ya que la población total es finita y accesible. La técnica para la recolección de datos será la encuesta, mediremos el nivel de la autoestima que es la escala de Rosemberg (EAR) que contiene 10 items, con respuesta tipo Likert de 4 puntos, que miden 2 dimensiones: sentimiento de respeto y aceptación de sí mismo. Para medir la Capacidad de autocuidado se usará el instrumento elaborado por Meza Iris, Quispe Fanny, este instrumento se pudo medir la capacidad de autocuidado que fue validado en el 2017 y cuenta con una confiabilidad de 0.87, validado mediante el coeficiente del Alfa de Cronbach. Los datos se procesarán estadísticamente con el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman mediante figuras y tablas
