Risk factors and their relationship with the overweight in fourth and fifth grade schoolchildren elementary of the educational institution Julio Cesar Tello Villa El Salvador, Lima 2023

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between risk factors and overweight in fourth and fifth grade schoolchildren of the Julio Cesar Tello Villa El Salvador educational institution, Lima 2023. The methodology of quantitative approach and descriptive correlational type, sought the use of the questionnaire to a total of 84 students. The results in terms of risk factors, specified that 83.3% of students have a medium level of risk, in terms of being overweight, the results obtained showed that 94% of students have a medium condition. Likewise, it was concluded that a considerable positive relationship is maintained between risk factors and overweight with a value of 0.532, in terms of the Biological factors and overweight dimension, a result of 0.551 was obtained, that is, a considerable positive relationship, in relation to for the social factors dimension, a result of 0.615 was obtained, considered as a significant positive relationship and finally, in the nutritional factors dimension, a value of 0.684 was maintained, considered as a considerable positive relationship. Understanding that in all of them a directly proportional behavior was maintained.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación de los factores de riesgo con el sobrepeso en escolares de cuarto y quinto grado de primaria de la institución educativa Julio Cesar Tello Villa el Salvador, Lima 2023. Material y métodos: La metodología de enfoque cuantitativo y de tipo descriptivo correlacional, buscó el empleo del cuestionario hacia un total de 84 estudiantes. Los resultados en cuanto a factores de riesgo, especificaron que el 83.3 % de los estudiantes tienen un nivel de riesgo medio, en cuanto a sobrepeso, los resultados obtenidos arrojaron que el 94% de los estudiantes presentan una condición media. Así mismo, se concluyó que se mantuvo una relación positiva considerable entre factores de riesgo y sobrepeso con un valor de 0.532, en cuanto a la dimensión Factores biológicos y sobrepeso se obtuvo un resultado de 0.551 significando una relación positiva considerable, en relación a la dimensión factores sociales se obtuvo un resultado de 0.615 considerada como una relación positiva significativa y por último en la dimensión factores nutricionales se mantuvo un valor de 0.684 considerándose como una relación positiva considerable.
