Level of satisfaction with nursing care and adherence to well-child check-ups in children under five years old at the Mariscal Castilla Health Center

Abstract

Objective: Establish the relationship that exists between the level of satisfaction with nursing care and compliance with the well-child control in children under five years of age at the Mariscal Castilla health center. Material and method: This study has a quantitative approach, correlational design and cross-sectional design. The sample was 148 mothers. The instruments were: the Baker questionnaire to measure the level of satisfaction and the card, as well as the clinical history to evaluate compliance with the well-child checkup. Results: 148 mothers participated, mostly of age between 25 and 35 years 69.6%, secondary education level 68.9% and marital status 73.6%. Regarding satisfaction with nursing care, the highest percentage was at a medium level 86.5% and compliance with the well-child checkup was partial 86.5%. The chi square statistical test had a p-value of 0.199, indicating that there was no relationship between both variables. Conclusion: There is no relationship between the level of satisfaction with nursing care and compliance with the well-child checkup in children under five years of age at the Mariscal Castilla health center, but there is a high percentage of non-compliance with the well-child checkup.

Objetivo: Establecer la relación que existe entre el nivel de satisfacción del cuidado de enfermería y el cumplimiento del control de niño sano en menores de cinco años en el centro de salud Mariscal Castilla. Material y método: Este estudio es de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño correlacional y corte transversal. La muestra fue 148 madres. Los instrumentos fueron: el cuestionario Baker para medir el nivel de satisfacción y el carnet, así como la historia clínica para evaluar el cumplimiento del control de niño sano. Resultados: Participaron 148 madres, en su mayoría de edad comprendida entre 25 y 35 años 69.6%, grado de instrucción secundaria 68.9% y estado civil conviviente 73.6%. En cuanto a la satisfacción del cuidado de enfermería, el mayor porcentaje fue de nivel medio 86.5% y el cumplimiento del control de niño sano fue parcial 86.5%. La prueba estadística de chi cuadrado tuvo un p-valor de 0.199, indicando que no hubo relación entre ambas variables. Conclusión: No existe relación entre el nivel de satisfacción del cuidado de enfermería y el cumplimiento del control de niño sano en menores de cinco años en el centro de salud Mariscal Castilla, pero existe gran porcentaje de incumplimiento del control de niño sano.
