Knowledge and application of the sterilization process of the nursing staff of the central sterilization service of a hospital in Nuevo Chimbote, 2023

Abstract

Objective: To determine how knowledge is related to the application of the sterilization process of the nursing staff of the sterilization center service of a Hospital in Nuevo Chimbote, 2023. Methodology: the hypothetical deductive method will be used, with a quantitative approach, type of study applied and with a non-experimental cross-sectional design with a correlational scope. The population to be studied will be the total of the nursing staff, which are 80, who work in the Hospital Sterilization Center of a hospital in Nuevo Chimbote, selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, for the data collection for the first variable, knowledge, the survey will be used as a technique and the questionnaire will be used as an instrument, and for the second variable, the application of the sterilization process will be used as a collection technique observation and, as an instrument, the checklist; the questionnaire entitled level of knowledge have a statistical reliability with Richardson's KR-20 with a value of 0.75 and the checklist application of the sterilization process the level of statistical reliability with Richardson's KR – 20 was 0.76 To obtain the data, the Microsoft Excel program will be entered, then the SPSS version 26, and we will work with non-parametric inferential statistics, and thus we will make use of chi-square and then the results will be presented in tables and graphs.

Objetivo: Determinar cómo se relaciona el conocimiento con la aplicación del proceso de esterilización del personal de enfermería del servicio de central de esterilización de un hospital de Nuevo Chimbote, 2023. Metodología: se empleará el método hipotético deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, tipo de estudio aplicada y con diseño no experimental de corte transversal y de alcance correlacional. La población objeto de estudio comprenderá la totalidad del personal de enfermería, que consta de 80 individuos, que ejercen labor en Central de Esterilización de Hospital un hospital de Nuevo Chimbote, seleccionados de acuerdo a los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, para la recolección de datos para la primera variable conocimiento se empleará como técnica la encuesta y de instrumento se utilizará el cuestionario y para la segunda variable aplicación del proceso de esterilización empleará como técnica de recolección de datos la observación y como instrumento la lista de chequeo; el cuestionario titulado nivel de conocimiento tienen una confiabilidad estadística con KR-20 de Richardson con un valor de 0.75 y la lista de chequeo aplicación del proceso de esterilización el nivel de confiabilidad estadística con KR – 20 de Richardson fue de 0.76 Para obtener los datos se ingresarán al programa Microsoft Excel, posteriormente al SPSS versión 26, y se trabajará con estadística inferencial no paramétrica, y así se hará uso de chi cuadrado y posteriormente los resultados se presentará en tablas y gráficos.
