Knowledge and professional nursing skills in immediate newborn care at a Maternal Center, Lima, 2023

Abstract

The present project will have as a general objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and professional nursing skills in the care of the immediate newborn in a Maternal and Child Center. The target population will be made up of the 25 nursing professionals who work in said maternity center. The study method used is hypothetical deductive, with a quantitative, applied or practical approach, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional design. For the data collection, the survey technique will be used, having as the first instrument the "Survey on the knowledge of the nursing professional in the immediate care of the newborn" prepared by Esteban Rosa in 2017, subjected to the Kuder Richarson coefficient for its reliability, reaching a score of 0.89. The second instrument used was the survey "Survey on the competence of the nursing professional in the immediate attention of the newborn", modified by Yepez in 2019, which through the reliability coefficient of Cronbach’s Alpha reached a score of 0.98; demonstrating that both instruments are very reliable. For the processing and analysis of the data obtained, they will later be taken to the SPSS V.27 software where the normal distribution of the variable will be sought through the normality test of (KS) taking the value (P= 005) as a reference. Using Spearman's correlation, the Chi-square test was also performed to verify the hypotheses and cross tables for the sociodemographic experts of the instrument.

El proyecto tendrá como objetivo general: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y competencias profesionales de enfermería en la atención del recién nacido inmediato de un Centro Materno Infantil. La muestra estará conformada por 25 enfermeras que laboran en dicho centro. El método que se empleara es hipotético deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo. Para la recolección de datos se empleará una encuesta, “Encuesta sobre conocimientos del profesional” elaborada por Esteban Rosa en el 2017, sometida a coeficiente Kuder Richarson para su confiabilidad, alcanzando una puntuación de 0.89. El segundo instrumento será “Encuesta sobre competencia del profesional de enfermería”, modificada por Yépez en el 2019 la cual a través del coeficiente de confiablidad de Alfa de Crombach alcanzó un puntaje de 0.98; demostrando que ambos instrumentos son muy confiables. Para el procesamiento y análisis de datos obtenidos, posteriormente serán llevados al software SPSS V.27 donde se buscará conocer la distribución normal de la variable mediante la prueba de normalidad de (KS) tomando como referencia el valor (P= <0 >005) empleando la correlación de Spearman, asimismo se realizará la prueba de Chi cuadrado para constatar las hipótesis y tablas cruzadas para los expertos sociodemográficos del instrumento
