Quality of nursing care and satisfaction of mothers of newborn in the neonatal ICU of hospital II Pasco, 2024

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the quality of nursing care and the satisfaction of mothers of newborns in the neonatal ICU of Hospital II Pasco, 2024. Materials and Methods: This study is applied in nature, employing a hypothetico-deductive method, as it deductively formulates a hypothesis in response to the research problem. The hypothesis will then be tested using statistical results as part of the analysis. The research adopts a quantitative approach since numerical data from the variables will be processed with statistical techniques, assessing the possibility of generalizing results to similar sociocultural contexts. The design is non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional. The population consists of 80 mothers of newborns in the neonatal ICU of Hospital II Pasco, with the sample being equivalent to the entire population (census-based) and selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling.

For both variables, the survey technique will be utilized due to its frequent use in social research, with a Likert-scale questionnaire titled "Mother's Satisfaction with Newborn Care." Content validity was assessed by Robles through the judgment of five expert informants, achieving a high level of validity equivalent to 97%. The reliability of both instruments was found to be excellent. As the items were polytomous, Martha Robles used the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. For the first variable, the coefficient was 0.973, and for the second variable, it was 0.955. Data processing will involve systematization in an Excel spreadsheet and the use of SPSS software version 26.0. Additionally, the statistical analysis will include frequency distribution, while inferential analysis will address normality testing and hypothesis testing.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre calidad del cuidado de enfermería y la satisfacción de las madres de recién nacidos de la UCI neonatal del Hospital II Pasco, 2024. Material y método: La investigación será del tipo aplicada, el método hipotéticodeductivo, porque se formula deductivamente una hipótesis frente al problema de investigación. Luego esta será contrastada con los resultados estadísticos como parte del análisis estadístico, tiene enfoque cuantitativo, ya que los datos numéricos de las variables serán procesados con técnicas estadísticas, evaluando la posibilidad de generalizar los resultados a contextos socioculturales similares, el diseño no experimental, correlacional, y transversal. la población que lo constituye es de 80 madres de los recién nacidos de la UCI neonatal del hospital II Pasco , la muestra es censal o sea equivalente a toda la poblacion,el muestreo es no probabilístico por conveniencia, Para ambas variables se utilizará la técnica de la encuesta, por ser usada con frecuencia en investigación social y el instrumento es la escala de Likert el cuestionario denominado satisfacción de la madre de recién nacido, se hizo validez de Robles del contenido mediante juicio de cinco expertos informantes, obteniendo un alto nivel equivalente al 97%, La confiabilidad de ambos instrumentos ha sido buena. Por ser ítems politómicos, Martha Robles utilizó el estadígrafo alfa de Cronbach. Para la primera variable, el coeficiente fue 0,973 y para la segunda variable el valor ha sido de 0,955. El procesamiento contempla la sistematización de datos en una hoja de cálculo Excel y el uso del software SPSS 26.0. Por otro lado, el análisis estadístico permite acceder a la distribución de frecuencias, mientras que el análisis inferencial se encarga de la prueba de normalidad y la contrastación de hipótesis.
