Knowledge and practices about the care of the newborn of puerperal mothers of the joint accommodation service of the general hospital of Jaen 2022

Abstract

Introduction: Neonatal care in rooming-in provides basic comprehensive care to the newborn with the active participation of the mother and family within the hospital environment; stimulating the strengthening of the family bond, supporting the physiological processes of neonatal adaptation during the first days after birth and providing information to the mother and family about the care of the newborn. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and practices on the care of the newborn of postpartum mothers in the rooming-in service of the general hospital of Jaén 2022. Methods: deductive, quantitative, correlational study. The census sample will consist of 102 puerperal women from the joint accommodation service of the general hospital of Jaén. The survey will be used to apply two Likert-type scale questionnaires adapted by Morí for the target population, they are validated and reliable to measure the variables in question. The collected data will be processed in SPSS 25 and the hypotheses will be tested using the statistical test of the Spearman correlation coefficient given the quantitative nature of the variables.

La atención al recién nacido en alojamiento conjunto ofrece al recién nacido un tratamiento básico integral con la participación activa de la madre y la familia en un entorno hospitalario; estimular el fortalecimiento del vínculo familiar, apoyar los procesos de adaptación fisiológica del recién nacido durante los primeros meses informando a la madre y a la familia sobre los cuidados del recién nacido. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre los conocimientos con las prácticas sobre el cuidado del recién nacido de madres puérperas del servicio de alojamiento conjunto del hospital general de Jaén 2022. Métodos: Tipo deductivo, cuantitativo, correlacional. Con una muestra censal constituida por 102 puérperas del servicio de alojamiento conjunto del hospital general de Jaén. Se usará la encuesta para aplicar dos cuestionarios en escala de tipo Likert adaptados por Morí para la población objetivo, están validados y son confiables para medir las variables en cuestión. Los datos recolectados serán procesados en SPSS 25 y las hipótesis se probarán usando la prueba estadística del coeficiente de correlación de Spearman dado la naturaleza cuantitativa de las variables.
