Knowledge and application of the surgical safety checklist in nursing professionals in the surgical area of ​​a hospital in Arequipa, 2022

Abstract

The present academic work entitled has the following objective: the level of Knowledge and the application of the surgical safety checklist of the nurses of the surgical ward of a hospital in Arequipa – Perú in 2022. The research uses the hypothetical deductive method, quantitative approach, applied type, correlational level of cross-section and non-experimental design; the population that take part in this study will be 40 nurses that belong to surgical ward of a hospital in Arequipa who will respond 2 questionnaires to measure both variables. The first instrument will be a Checklist Survey about knowledge of surgical safety. This survey has 10 items and responds the following dimensions: basic knowledge and patient safety: the next instrument is an Observation Guide and has 19 items and responds the following dimensions: check-in register, surgical pause and check-out register.

El presente trabajo académico tiene por objetivo determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y la aplicación de la lista de verificación de cirugía segura en profesionales de enfermería del área quirúrgica de un hospital de Arequipa - Perú en el año 2022. La investigación utiliza el método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, será de tipo aplicada, de nivel correlacional de corte transversal y diseño no experimental; la población que participará será de 50 enfermeros que forman parte del área quirúrgica de un hospital de la región Arequipa, a quienes se les aplicará dos cuestionarios para medir las variables. El primer instrumento será la Encuesta de Conocimientos de la Lista de Verificación que consta de 10 ítems y responde a las siguientes dimensiones: conocimientos básicos y seguridad del paciente; y la siguiente es la Guía de Observación sobre Aplicación de la Lista de Verificación que consta de 19 ítems y responde a las siguientes dimensiones: entrada, pausa quirúrgica y salida.
