Academic stress and its relationship with procrastination in nursing students of cycles IX and X of a private university of Lima, 2023

Abstract

Based on the present research study, we have sought to analyze the relationship between academic stress and procrastination in nursing students of cycles IX and X of a private university in Lima, 2023; For this purpose, an applied methodology and a quantitative approach with a correlational level and non-experimental design has been used, being the sample of 157 nursing students, who were surveyed through instruments such as questionnaires, also both instruments were subjected to a reliability process by means of Cronbach's alpha, being that the SISCO inventory was validated in Lima by Álvarez and Cerrón in 2020 while the EPA instrument was through the analysis executed by Verastegui and Milagros in Peru in 2017 which allowed identifying the reliability of the referred instruments. The results showed the existence of a relationship between the variables investigated, being the Rho value=.778 and a significance of p=<0.05 which allowed concluding that there is a relationship between the variables academic stress and procrastination in nursing students of cycles IX and X of a private university in Lima, 2023.

Objetivo: analizar la relación del estrés académico con la procrastinación en estudiantes de enfermería de los ciclos IX y X de una universidad privada de Lima, 2023; para lo que se ha empleado una metodología aplicada y un enfoque cuantitativo con un nivel correlacional y diseño no experimental, siendo para ello la muestra de 157 escolares de enfermería, a quienes se les encuestó a través de instrumentos como cuestionarios, asimismo ambos instrumentos fueron sometidos a un proceso de confiabilidad mediante el alfa de Cronbach, siendo que el inventario SISCO fue validado en Lima por Álvarez y Cerrón en el año 2020 mientras que el instrumento EPA fue mediante el análisis ejecutado por Verastegui y Milagros en Perú en el año 2017 que permitió identificar la fiabilidad de los referidos instrumentos. Sobre los resultados se precisó existencia de relación entre las variables investigadas, siendo el valor de Rho=.778 y una significancia de p=<.05 que permitió concluir que existe relación entre las variables estrés académico y la procrastinación en estudiantes de enfermería de los ciclos IX y X de una universidad privada de Lima, 2023.
