Knowledge and preventive practices of pressure injuries applied by caregivers of the elderly treated at the FAP central hospital, 2020

Abstract

The purpose of this academic work has a quantitative approach, through scope and correlational descriptive analysis according to the period and sequence of the research, it is cross-sectional and according to the time of the events, it is prospective. The sample will consist of all relatives of older adults hospitalized on the 6th floor south-Geriatrics Unit of the FAP Central Hospital in 2020, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria set out in this research. The sample size will consist of 80 study subjects and the type of sampling will be non-probabilistic and non-random due to cohabitation. To measure the knowledge of family members about prevention of pressure injuries, the Lucero Y questionnaire instrument will be used.

El propósito del presente trabajo académico tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, mediante alcance y análisis descriptivo correlacional según el periodo y secuencia de la investigación es de corte transversal y según el tiempo de los hechos es prospectivo. La muestra estará constituida por todos los familiares de los adultos mayores hospitalizados en el 6to piso sur-Unidad de Geriatría del Hospital Central FAP año 2020, aplicando criterios de inclusión y exclusión planteados en la presente investigación. El tamaño de la muestra estará constituido por 80 sujetos de estudio y el tipo de muestreo será no probabilístico y no aleatorio por convivencia. Para medir el conocimiento de los familiares sobre prevención de lesiones por presión se utilizará el instrumento de cuestionario de Lucero Y.
