Motivation and work performance of the nursing professional in the emergency service of the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen Hospital, Lima 2022

Abstract

Motivation is a key component in institutions to achieve high performance. This study aimed to determine the relationship between motivation and job performance among nursing professionals in the emergency department of Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen Hospital-Lima (HGAI) - 2022. A prospective correlational study, quantitative, with a non-experimental design. The survey will be applied to 114 nurses in the emergency area of HGAI using a face-to-face survey technique. The instruments used were two: one measuring motivation and the other measuring job performance. Both instruments were validated by the author Linares Marín. The reliability of both instruments showed a Cronbach's α = 0.825. After the questionnaires are applied, the data will be exported to SPSS version 24. The data will be grouped into tables and graphs according to the variables and dimensions, based on descriptive statistics. The associations between the variables will be determined at a 95% confidence level and a 5% significance level, with the degree of relationship measured using Spearman's Rho.

La motivación es un componente clave en las instituciones para alcanzar un alto desempeño. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación existente entre la motivación y el desempeño laboral de los profesionales de enfermería en el servicio de emergencia del hospital Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen-Lima (HGAI)-2022. Estudio prospectivo de correlación, cuantitativo de diseño no experimental. Aplicarán la encuesta a 114 enfermeros del área de emergencia del HGAI bajo la técnica de encuesta cara a cara. Los instrumentos fueron dos, uno que mide la motivación y el segundo que mide el desempeño laboral, ambos instrumentos han sido validados por la autora Linares Marín. La confiabilidad de ambos instrumentos, mostró un α de cronbach = 0,825. Terminando con la aplicación de los cuestionarios, la base será exportada a SPSS versión 24. Los datos serán agrupados en tablas y gráficos según las variables y las dimensiones, según la estadística descriptiva. Las asociaciones de las variables serán determinados a un nivel de confianza del 95% y una significancia del 5%, el grado de relación serán medidos según Rho de Spearman.
