| dc.description.abstract | Objective: This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of an audiovisual playful teaching strategy on dental care for pediatric patients during the coronavirus pandemic among a group of primary school students. A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was designed. The sample consisted of 151 schoolchildren aged 8 to 11. Results: Before the educational intervention, 69.5% of the schoolchildren achieved a High level of knowledge, and 30.5% a Medium level; these scores improved by 12% after watching the video, with 81.5% of the schoolchildren reaching the High level. There was no statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge obtained before and after the intervention with gender (p=0.724) or age (p=0.920). The paired T-test showed that the application of the audiovisual playful strategy was effective in improving knowledge about dental care for pediatric patients during the coronavirus pandemic among the observed schoolchildren (t=5.884, p=0.000). Conclusion: The audiovisual playful strategy was effective in enhancing the understanding of dental care among primary school students during the pandemic. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la efectividad de una estrategia lúdica audiovisual de enseñanza sobre los cuidados para la atención odontológica pediátrica durante la pandemia por coronavirus en un grupo escolares de primaria. Para ello, se diseñó un estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo y de corte transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 151 escolares de 8 a 11. Los resultados indican que antes de la intervención educativa, el 69,5% de los escolares obtuvieron un nivel Alto de conocimientos y el 30,5% un nivel Medio; estos puntajes mejoraron un 12% después de observar el video, logrando el nivel Alto un 81,5% de los escolares. No hubo relación estadísticamente significativa entre el nivel de conocimientos obtenido antes y después de la intervención con el sexo (p= 0,724) ni con la edad (p=0,920). La prueba T pareada demostró que la aplicación de la estrategia lúdica audiovisual fue efectiva para mejorar los conocimientos sobre los cuidados para la atención odontológica pediátrica durante la pandemia por coronavirus de los escolares observados (t= 5,884, p=0,000). | es_ES |
