Analysis of the easy Biotype and its relationship with the type of smile in patients of the dental clinic “Familydent“ Lima-Peru 2021.

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between facial biotype and smile types in patients attending the “Familydent” dental clinic in Lima, Peru, in 2021. Materials and Methods: The sample consisted of 106 individuals who visited the “Familydent” dental clinic in Lima, Peru, in 2021. Sampling was done in two stages. In the first stage, the individual's age, gender, and facial biotype were recorded using data forms. In the second stage, the smile types were completed after photographing the individuals. Results: 37.7% of the total patients had a leptoprosopic biotype with a low smile type, 48.1% had a leptoprosopic biotype with a medium smile type, and 8.5% had a leptoprosopic biotype with a high smile type. On the other hand, 94.3% of the individuals had a leptoprosopic biotype, 4.7% had a mesoprosopic biotype, and only one patient had an euriprosopic biotype. Regarding smile types, 42.5% had a low smile type, 49% had a medium smile type, and 8.5% had a high smile type. Conclusion: The significance value was (0.337), which is > (0.05), indicating that the null hypothesis is accepted and the alternative hypothesis is rejected. In other words, there is no relationship between facial biotype and smile types in patients attending the “Familydent” dental clinic in Lima, Peru, in 2021.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el biotipo facial y tipos de sonrisa en pacientes que acuden a la clínica dental “Familydent” Lima-Perú 2021 Materiales y métodos: la muestra consistió con la participación de 106 individuos que fueron a “Familydent” clínica dental. Lima-Perú 2021. El muestreo se realizó en dos etapas. El primer momento del proceso de llenado tiene lugar en presencia del individuo cuya edad, género y biotipo facial quedan registrados. Se utilizó las fichas de datos. En el segundo momento de llenado se realizaron al tener la foto de los individuos donde se procedieron a completar los tipos de sonrisas. Resultados: El 37,7% del total de pacientes tienen biotipo leptoprosopo y un tipo de sonrisa baja, el 48,1% tienen un biotipo leptoprosopo y tipo de sonrisa media. Finalmente, el 8,5% del total tienen un biotipo leptoprosopo y tipo de sonrisa alta. Por otro lado, se observa que el 94,3% tiene un biotipo leptoprosopo, 4,7% mesoprosopo y solamente 1 paciente de tipo euriprosopo. Respecto al tipo de sonrisa, el 42,5% tienen tipo de sonrisa baja, el 49% media y el 8,5% un tipo de sonrisa alta. Conclusión: El valor de significancia fue de (0,337) que es > a (0,05), lo cual indica que se acepta la hipótesis nula y se rechazó la hipótesis alterna, en otras palabras, no hay relación entre el biotipo facial y tipos de sonrisa en pacientes que acudieron a la clínica dental “Familydent” Lima-Perú 2021.
