Knowledge and practice of handwashing of nursing staff in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Lima, 2021

Abstract

This research will be developed within the scope of the intensive care unit of a hospital in Lima and will focus on the knowledge and practice of handwashing by nursing staff, an action of utmost importance to prevent the transmission of diseases both in health personnel and in patients, who may be harmed in their recovery process, putting their well-being and even their lives at risk. Objective: to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice of handwashing by nursing staff in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Lima, 2021. Materials and methods: the research will follow the quantitative approach, while the scope will be descriptive-correlational and the non-experimental, cross-sectional design will be applied using the Rho Espearman test. The sample will be made up of 80 nursing professionals. The technique will be the survey and the instruments that will be applied will be the questionnaire and the checklist.

Esta investigación se desarrollará dentro del ámbito de la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital de Lima y se enfocará en el conocimiento y la práctica del lavado de manos por parte del personal de enfermería, acción de suma relevancia para evitar la transmisión de enfermedades tanto en el personal de salud como en los pacientes, quienes pueden verse perjudicados en su proceso de recuperación, poniendo en riesgo su bienestar e incluso su vida. Objetivo: determinar cuál es la relación entre conocimiento y práctica del lavado de manos del personal de enfermería en la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital de Lima, 2021 Materiales y métodos: la investigación seguirá el enfoque cuantitativo, mientras que el alcance será descriptivo-correlacional y el diseño no experimental, transversal, será aplicado mediante la prueba de Rho Espearman. la muestra estará conformada por 80 Enfermería. la técnica será la encuesta y los instrumentos que se aplicarán serán el cuestionario y la lista de cotejo.
