Factors associated with the level of pain during vaccine administration in term breastfed newborns, Manuel Barreto Maternal and Child Center, 2020

Abstract

Summary: Considering that the application of vaccines in infants, as well as their medical care, are painful procedures that cause distress in infants and therefore in their mothers and/or caregivers, often leading to anxiety and fear of needles, the adoption of breastfeeding during the vaccination process has become an effective practice. The associated factors include size, weight, sex, gestational age, and type of delivery (natural or cesarean). This research will help determine the factors associated with pain, as it is estimated that preterm newborns, especially those born with an extremely low weight, who have been exposed to painful stimuli, are at high risk of learning and developmental alterations during school age. Objective: To determine the factors associated with pain levels during vaccination in term newborns who are breastfed, at the Manuel Barreto Maternal and Child Center, 2020. Materials and Method: Qualitative approach, non-experimental design, descriptive type, and cross-sectional.

Resumen: Considerando que la aplicación de las vacunas en lactantes e infantes, así como la atención médica de éstos son procedimientos dolorosos que inducen a angustia en infantes y por ende a sus madres y/o cuidadoras; provocando en muchas ocasiones ansiedad y pánico a las agujas, se ha convertido en una práctica eficaz, la adopción de la lactancia materna durante el proceso de vacunación, y los factores asociados dentro de ello están: la talla , peso , sexo, edad gestacional y el tipo de parto natural o cesaría . ya que este trabajo de investigación ayudará a determinar los factores asociados al dolor ya que Se estima que los niños Recién nacido pretérminos, que han sido expuestos a estímulos dolorosos especialmente aquellos nacidos con un peso extremadamente bajo, tienen un alto riesgo de sufrir alteraciones en el aprendizaje y el desarrollo en la edad escolar. Objetivo: determinar los factores asociados al nivel de dolor durante la aplicación de las vacunas en el recién nacido a término que amamanta, Centro Materno Infantil Manuel Barreto, 2020.Material y método: enfoque cualitativo, diseño no experimental, tipo descriptivo y de corte transversal.”
