Level of information and degree of anxiety of the patient in preoperative care at the Cirlap Clinic, Lima-2021

Abstract

The objective was to determine the relationship between the level of information and the degree of anxiety in preoperative patients at the CIRLAP Clinic in Lima – 2021. The methodology followed a quantitative, descriptive correlational, and cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 80 patients, with a sample of 70, using non-probabilistic sampling. The results indicated a correlation, as the Spearman coefficient was 0.439, confirming a moderate and negative relationship between the variables. This means that as a preoperative patient is less informed, their anxiety level will be higher or more severe, and vice versa. Of the 70 preoperative patients at CIRLAP Clinic in Lima – 2021, 8.6% had low information and moderate anxiety, 58.6% had low information and severe anxiety, 1.4% with medium information had moderate anxiety, and 1.4% had medium information and severe anxiety. When the information level was high, 1.4% had moderate anxiety and 1.4% had severe anxiety, with a significance value of p= 0.000 < 0.05. Conclusion: A significant correlation between both variables was found. Additionally, a significant correlation was observed between the level of information regarding the type of surgery and the level of anxiety in preoperative patients. However, no correlation was found between the level of information regarding preoperative care assistance and the anxiety level in preoperative patients. Similarly, there was no relationship between the level of information regarding hospitalization time and the level of anxiety in preoperative patients. Finally, a significant relationship was found between the level of information regarding postoperative care and the degree of anxiety in preoperative patients.

El Objetivo fue determinar la relación existente del nivel de información con el grado de ansiedad de pacientes en preoperatorio de la clínica CIRLAP Lima – 2021, por lo que la metodología correspondió al enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo correlacional, transversal, la población fue de 80 pacientes y la muestra 70, con muestreo no probabilístico. Los resultados indicaron la existencia de la correlación, puesto que se obtuvo coeficiente de Spearman igual a -0.439, lo que afirma una relación moderada y negativa de las variables, es decir, en la medida que el paciente en preoperatorio esté menos informado, su grado de ansiedad será más elevado o grave, y viceversa , el 8,6% de 70 pacientes en preoperatorio de la Clínica CIRLAP Lima – 2021 tiene un bajo nivel de información y una ansiedad moderada, el 58.6% tiene un nivel de información bajo y una ansiedad grave; el 1.4% de pacientes que tiene un nivel de información medio tiene también una ansiedad moderada, el 1.4% tiene nivel medio de información y nivel grave de ansiedad; cuando el nivel de información es alto, el 1.4% tiene un grado de ansiedad moderado y el 1.4% tiene también un grado de ansiedad grave obteniendo un valor de significancia p= 0,000 < 0,05. Conclusión: Se evidenció la existencia de una significativa correlación entre ambas variables, así mismo también existe correlación significativa del el nivel de información en su dimensión orientación sobre el tipo de cirugía con el nivel de ansiedad de pacientes en preoperatorio, se determinó que no existe correlación entre el nivel de información en su dimensión ayuda en cuidados preoperatorios con el grado de ansiedad de pacientes de preoperatorio, en cuanto al nivel de información en su dimensión tiempo de hospitalización con el nivel de ansiedad de pacientes en preoperatorio no hay relación. Finalmente, existe significativa relación del nivel de información en la dimensión confianza y resolución en cuidados postoperatorios con el grado de ansiedad del paciente en preoperatorio.
