Level of knowledge on the management of central venous catheter in nurses of the emergency service of the Hospital San José de Chincha, Ica-Peru, 2021

Abstract

The present study is carried out within the framework of research into nursing care in emergencies and disasters. OBJECTIVE: Determine the level of knowledge about the management of the central venous catheter of the nurses in the emergency service of the Hospital San José de Chincha, Ica-Peru 2021. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The approach to be used in this study is quantitative, and The design to be addressed is non-experimental, descriptive-transversal. The population will be made up of 30 nursing professionals who work in the emergency service. The technique to be used will be the survey and the instrument will be the questionnaire, which is nationally validated. It is composed of 10 multiple-choice questions that respond to its two dimensions: Dimension on generalities of the central venous catheter: Questions from 1 to 6, and Dimension on central venous catheter care: Questions from 7 to 10. The overall score ranges between 0. and 20 points, their final values ​​being: high, medium and low level of knowledge about the management of the central venous catheter. To determine reliability, first the pilot test was carried out and then reliability was calculated using Cronbach's Alpha with the following result: 0.732, that is, the instrument is very reliable.

El presente estudio se realiza en el marco de la investigación del cuidado enfermero en emergencias y desastres. OBJETIVO: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre el manejo del catéter venoso central de las enfermeras del servicio de emergencia del Hospital San José de Chincha, Ica- Perú 2021. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: El enfoque a emplearse en este estudio es el cuantitativo, y el diseño a abordarse es el no experimental, descriptivo-transversal. La población estará conformada por 30 profesionales de enfermería que laboran en el servicio de emergencia. La técnica a utilizarse será la encuesta y el instrumento el cuestionario, el cual se encuentra validado nacionalmente. Está compuesto con 10 preguntas de alternativa múltiple que responden a sus dos dimensiones: Dimensión sobre generalidades del catéter venoso central: Preguntas del 1 al 6, y Dimensión sobre cuidados del catéter venoso central: Preguntas del 7 al 10. La puntuación global oscila entre 0 y 20 puntos, siendo sus valores finales: alto, medio y bajo nivel de conocimiento sobre el manejo del catéter venoso central. Para determinar la confiabilidad, primero se realizó la prueba piloto y después se calculó la confiabilidad por medio del Alfa de Cronbach con el siguiente resultado: 0.732, es decir, el instrumento es muy confiable.
