Knowledge and attitudes of the nursing professional in caring for users with HIV/AIDS who attend the emergency service of a hospital of the Ministry of Health, Ayacucho - 2023

Abstract

Introduction: The performance of nurses who work in critical care, especially in emergency services whose work is based on ethical principles, attitudes and scientific competencies. Their knowledge and skills contribute to their efficiency and safety in emergency services and their attitude helps to improve the quality of care and avoid stigma and discrimination due to their diagnosis of users with HIV/AIDS. Objective: Determine how knowledge is related to the attitudes of the nursing professional in caring for users with HIV/AIDS who attend the emergency service of a Hospital of the Ministry of Health, Ayacucho – 2023. Methods: It is a study with a quantitative, non-experimental, applied, cross-sectional, correlational scope that uses the hypothetical-deductive method. The census sample will consist of 60 nurses from the different health services of the MINSA Hospital, Ayacucho. The survey will be used as a technique, to measure the knowledge variable, the UNAIDS HIV/AIDS management guide questionnaire will be used, to measure attitudes, the Likert-type scale questionnaire adapted by Chaupe M. for the target population will be used. which are validated and reliable to measure the variables in question. The collected data will be processed by SPSS25 and the hypotheses will be tested using a Spearman correlation coefficient statistical test given the qualitative nature of the variables.

Introducción: El desempeño de los enfermeros que trabajan en cuidados críticos, especialmente en los servicios de emergencia cuyo trabajo se basa en principios éticos, actitudes y competencias científicas. Sus conocimientos y habilidades contribuyen a su eficiencia y seguridad en los servicios de emergencia y su actitud ayuda a mejorar la calidad de la atención y evitar el estigma y la discriminación por su diagnóstico a los usuarios portadores del VIH/SIDA. Objetivo: Determinar cómo los conocimientos se relacionan con las actitudes del profesional de enfermería en la atención al usuario con VIH/SIDA que acude al servicio de emergencia de un Hospital del Ministerio de Salud, Ayacucho - 2023. Metodología: Estudio de tipo aplicada, cuantitativo, no experimental. La muestra censal estará constituida por 60 enfermeras asistenciales del Hospital del MINSA, Ayacucho. Como instrumentos se usarán dos cuestionarios, el primero fué tomado de la guía de manejo para VIH/SIDA de ONUSIDA, el segundo es de escala tipo Likert adaptado por Chaupe M. los cuales están validados y son confiables para medir las variables. Los datos recolectados serán procesados por SPSS25 y las hipótesis se probarán usando una prueba estadística del coeficiente de correlación de Spearman dado la naturaleza cualitativa de las variables.
