Quality of life and adherence to treatment in patients attending renal replacement therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Santa Ana Clinic, 2021

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship between quality of life and adherence to treatment in patients who attend renal replacement therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Santa Ana Clinic, 2021. Methodology: The method will be hypothetical-deductive, quantitative approach , basic type, correlational design, the population will be made up of 100 patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease. Data collection techniques and instruments: To collect the information, the survey technique and two instruments will be applied: quality of life (SF-36) of 35 items, whose dimensions (functional state, state of well-being and general state) and adherence to treatment of 25 items, whose dimensions (treatment, diet and lifestyle). Procedures: Data will be collected in the Renal Replacement Therapy Unit at the Santa Ana Clinic in Miraflores. Statistical analysis: The results will be presented in statistical tables and/or graphs for analysis and interpretation, taking into account the theoretical bases. For this, the statistical program IBM SPSS Statistics version 26.0 and the Microsoft Excel 2019 program were used; Likewise, to test the hypothesis, the Spearman Correlation Test (Rho) will be applied, as a margin the level of statistical significance.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la calidad de vida y adherencia al tratamiento en pacientes que acuden a la terapia de reemplazo renal durante la pandemia del COVID-19 en la Clínica Santa Ana, 2021. Metodología: El método será hipotético–deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básico, diseño correlacional, la población será conformada por 100 pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica terminal. Técnicas e instrumentos de recolección de datos: Para la recolección de la información se aplicará la técnica de la encuesta y dos instrumentos: calidad de vida (SF-36) de 35 ítems, cuyas dimensiones (estado funcional, estado de bienestar y estado general) y adherencia al tratamiento de 25 ítems, cuyas dimensiones (tratamiento, alimentación y estilo de vida). Procedimientos: Los datos serán recolectados en la Unidad de Terapia de Reemplazo Renal en la Clínica Santa Ana de Miraflores. Análisis estadístico: Los resultados serán presentados en tablas y/o gráficos estadísticos para su análisis e interpretación, teniendo en cuenta las bases teóricas, para ello se utilizó el programa estadístico IBM SPSS Statistics versión 26.0 y el programa Microsoft Excel 2019; asimismo, para la contrastación de la hipótesis se aplicará la Prueba de Correlación de Spearman (Rho), como margen el nivel de significancia estadística.
