Work stress and quality of life of nursing professionals in the emergency area of a Lima hospital, 2024

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between work stress and the quality of life of the nursing professional in the emergency area of a hospital in Lima, 2024. Methodology: The study will adopt a quantitative approach using the hypothetic-deductive method. The research will be applied, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design and a descriptive correlational level. Regarding the population, 70 nursing professionals working in the emergency area of a hospital in Lima will be included. Regarding the methodology to be used, a survey-based study will be carried out, using a questionnaire as the main tool. Both instruments have been previously validated and are instruments designed to evaluate the variables of interest. These include the MBI - Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire, which has shown a high level of reliability with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.76, and the CVP-35 Scale questionnaire, which has also demonstrated a high reliability with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.78. The data collected will be organized in tables and graphs for further statistical analysis. Necessary statistics will be generated and interpreted according to the context of the study. In addition, the level of correlation between variables will be examined using Spearman's coefficient, in line with the previously established objectives.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre el estrés laboral y la calidad de vida del profesional de enfermería en el área de emergencia de un hospital de Lima, 2024. Metodología: El estudio adoptará un enfoque cuantitativo utilizando el método hipotético deductivo. La investigación será de tipo aplicada, con un diseño no experimental de corte transversal y un nivel descriptivo correlacional. Respecto a la población, se incluirá a 70 profesionales de enfermería que trabajan en el área de emergencia de un hospital en Lima. En relación a la metodología a emplear, se llevará a cabo un estudio basado en encuestas, utilizando como herramienta principal un cuestionario. Ambos instrumentos han sido previamente validados y son instrumentos diseñados para evaluar las variables de interés. Estos incluyen el cuestionario MBI - Inventario de Burnout de Maslach, que ha mostrado un alto nivel de confiabilidad con un coeficiente alfa de Cronbach de 0.76, y el cuestionario Escala CVP-35, el cual también ha demostrado una alta fiabilidad con un coeficiente alfa de Cronbach de 0.78. Los datos recopilados serán organizados en tablas y gráficos para su posterior análisis estadístico. Se generarán y se interpretarán las estadísticas necesarias según el contexto del estudio.
