Knowledge and practices of the family caregiver regarding the care of the elderly in the EsSalud home care program, Lima 2022

Abstract

Aging is a problem worldwide, according to several statistics they infer that in the world there are around 600 million people over 60 years of age and that this figure will double over the years, reaching 2000 million in the year 2050, therefore which health personnel seek to improve the quality of life of this group of people through research that allows us to approach different problems. Therefore, this research project will focus on the care of the elderly by their family caregivers, seeking to determine the relationship that exists between the knowledge and practice of the caregiver regarding the care of the elderly in the Essalud home care program. 2022. This research work is based on the hypothetical deductive method, quantitative approach, applied, non-experimental research, the level of research is cross-sectional correlational. The sample will consist of 358 family caregivers of older adults in the home care program. The information will be obtained through the survey technique, the instruments used are questionnaires on knowledge and practices about caring for the elderly.

El envejecimiento es un problema a nivel mundial, según varias estadísticas infieren que en el mundo hay alrededor de 600 millones de personas mayores de 60 años y que esta cifra se duplicará al pasar de los años llegando a 2000 millones en el año 2050, por lo cual el personal de salud busca mejorar la calidad de vida de este grupo de personas mediante investigaciones que permitan acercarnos a diferentes problemáticas. Por lo tanto, este proyecto de investigación se enfocará sobre el cuidado del adulto mayor por parte de sus cuidadores familiares buscando determinar la relación que existe entre el conocimiento y la práctica del cuidador sobre el cuidado del adulto mayor en el programa de atención domiciliaria de Essalud 2022. El presente trabajo de investigación está en base a el método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, investigación aplicada, no experimental, el nivel de la investigación es correlacional de corte transversal. La muestra estará constituida por 358 cuidadores familiares de adultos mayores en el programa de atención domiciliaria. La información se obtendrá a través de la técnica de la encuesta, los Instrumentos utilizados son los cuestionarios de conocimientos y prácticas sobre el cuidado del adulto mayor.
