Burnout syndrome and work performance in the nursing staff of the medical service of the Conchan de Petroperú Refinery during the Covid-19 pandemic, Lima 2022

Abstract

Currently, it is pertinent to address the study of burnout syndrome and job performance to understand the variables and provide contributions that improve the quality of patient care through the positive disposition of nursing professionals.

Objective: To determine the relationship between burnout syndrome and job performance among the nursing staff of the medical service at the Conchán refinery of Petroperú during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lima 2022.

Methodology: The study will be quantitative, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional. The population is finite, and the sample will consist of all nursing professionals working in person in the first-aid area at the Conchán Refinery – Petroperú, totaling 21 nursing professionals who meet the inclusion criteria: nursing professionals working for more than a year and willing to participate in the research study. The exclusion criteria will include nursing professionals working for less than a year or those on leave or vacation.

The technique for both variables will be the survey. For the burnout syndrome variable, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) scale by Christina Maslach and Susan Jackson will be used, with a reliability of 0.758 Cronbach's Alpha and international validation. For the job performance variable, the job performance questionnaire by Jessenia Evelyn Abarca Pérez will be used, with a reliability of 0.745 Cronbach's Alpha, which is reliable and validated by expert judgment.

Data processing will be carried out using Microsoft Excel V. 2016 and SPSS V. 25 software. Additionally, the Spearman Rho coefficient will be used to correlate the variables.

En la actualidad es pertinente abordar el estudio del síndrome de burnout y desempeño laboral para conocer las variables y brindar aportes que mejoren la calidad de atención al paciente desde la buena disposición del Enfermería. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el síndrome de burnout y el desempeño laboral en el personal de enfermería del servicio médico de la refinería Conchán de Petroperú durante la pandemia COVID-19, Lima 2022. Metodología: El estudio será cuantitativo, correlacional, no experimental transversal. la población es finita y, la muestra estará conformada por todos los Enfermería que laboran de manera presencial en el área del tópico de la Refinería Conchán – Petroperú, equivalente a 21 Enfermería las mismas que cumplen con los criterios de inclusión como Enfermería que laboran por más de un año y se encuentren de acuerdo en participar en el estudio de investigación y, en los criterios de exclusión se consideran a los Enfermería que laboran menos de un año y que se encuentren de licencia o de vacaciones. la técnica para las dos variables será la encuesta. Asimismo, como instrumento para la variable síndrome de burnout se utilizará la escala de Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) de Christina Maslach y Susan Jackson con una confiabilidad de 0,758 Alfa de Cronbach con validación internacional y para la variable desempeño laboral se utilizará el cuestionario de desempeño laboral de Jessenia Evelyn Abarca Pérez con una confiabilidad de 0,745 Alfa de Cronbach, lo cual resulta confiable con validación por juicio de expertos. en el procesamiento de datos se empleará el software Microsoft Excel V. 2016 y SPSS V. 25. Asimismo, para la correlación de variables se utilizará el coeficiente de Rho de Spearman”.
