Factors of non-compliance with adverse event recording in nursing professionals at the Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thonpsom Hospital, 2019

Abstract

Objective: to determine the factors for non-compliance with the registration of adverse events in nursing professionals at the Hospital Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thonpsom, 2019. Method: cross-sectional descriptive, the sample was 67 nursing professionals from the Intensive Care Unit - ICU service, a checklist was constructed which was validated by expert judgment and a pilot test for the reliability of the instrument. Results: it can be seen that 70.1% of the nursing professionals are male; 53.7% are between 31 and 40 years old; 34.3% have 8 to 12 years of service; 77.6% have 1 to 3 years working in the service. With reference to non-compliance in the registration of adverse events in nursing professionals of the intensive care unit of the Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thonpsom Hospital, 2019 it was found that 86.6% do not comply with the registration of adverse events and only 13.4% comply; In an analysis of the dimension concerning the personal factor, it was found that 67.2% do not comply with the registration of adverse events and only 32.8% comply; while, in the dimension linked to the institutional factor, it was found that 98.5% do not comply and 1.5% do comply. Conclusions: It was determined that the predominant factor associated with non-compliance with the registration of adverse events in nursing professionals at the Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thompson Hospital is the institutional one, since there is no monthly report of adverse events and there is no system. recording and monitoring of these events.

Objetivo: fue determinar los factores de incumplimiento del registro de eventos adversos en profesionales de enfermería del Hospital Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thonpsom,2019. Método: descriptivo transversal, la muestra fue de 67 profesionales de enfermería del servicio Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos - UCI, se construyó una lista de cotejo el cual fue validado por un juicio de expertos y una prueba piloto para la confiabilidad del instrumento. Resultados: se aprecia que el 70,1% de los profesionales de enfermería son de sexo masculino; el 53,7% tiene edad de 31 a 40 años; el 34,3% tienen de 8 a 12 años de servicio; el 77,6% tienen de 1 a 3 años trabajando en el servicio. Con referencia al incumplimiento en el registro de eventos adversos en profesionales de enfermería de la unidad de cuidados intensivos del Hospital Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thonpsom, 2019 se encontró que el 86.6% incumple con el registro de eventos adversos y solo el 13.4% cumple; en un análisis de la dimensión concerniente al factor personal, se encontró que el 67.2% incumple con el registro de eventos adversos y solo el 32.8% cumplen; mientras que, en la dimensión vinculada al factor institucional, se encontró que el 98.5% no cumplen y el 1.5% si cumplen. Conclusiones: Se determinó que el factor predominante y asociado al incumplimiento del registro de eventos adversos en profesionales de enfermería del Hospital Alberto Leopoldo Barton Thompson es el institucional, ya que no se cuenta con un reporte mensual de eventos adversos y tampoco se cuenta con un sistema de registro y seguimiento de estos eventos.
