Effectiveness of early fracture stabilization compared to late stabilization in polytrauma patients in emergency

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the evidence about the effectiveness of early stabilization of fractures compared with late stabilization, reduction of costs and hospital days in the prevention of complications of polytraumatized patients in the emergency service. Material and methods: 10 scientific articles were included, constituted by a systematic and cohort review that synthesizes the results of multiple primary research. Published in scientific databases that respond to articles published in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, with an age of no more than seven years, and the selected articles were subjected to a critical reading, using the GRADE system to assign the strength of recommendation. Results: Shows that of the total of 10 articles reviewed, 100% (N=10/10) of these show that early stabilization of fractures compared to late stabilization in polytraumatized patients is effective since complications are prevented, there are reduced costs and fewer hospital days. Conclusions: 10 of the 10 articles evidenced in the reviewed research that early stabilization of fractures compared to late stabilization is effective, preventing complications, reducing costs and fewer hospital days.

OBJETIVO: ANALIZAR LA EVIDENCIA ACERCA DE LA EFECTIVIDAD DE LA ESTABILIZACIÓN TEMPRANA DE FRACTURAS COMPARADO CON LA ESTABILIZACIÓN TARDÍA, DISMINUCIÓN DE COSTOS Y DÍAS HOSPITALARIOS EN LA PREVENCIÓN DE COMPLICACIONES, DE LOS PACIENTES POLITRAUMATIZADOS EN EL SERVICIO DE EMERGENCIA. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: SE INCLUYERON 10 ARTÍCULOS CIENTÍFICOS CONSTITUIDA POR REVISIÓN SISTEMÁTICA Y COHORTE QUE SINTETIZA LOS RESULTADOS DE MÚLTIPLES INVESTIGACIONES PRIMARIAS. PUBLICADOS EN LAS BASES DE DATOS CIENTÍFICOS QUE RESPONDEN A ARTÍCULOS PUBLICADOS EN IDIOMA ESPAÑOL, PORTUGUÉS E INGLÉS,CON UNA ANTIGÜEDAD NO MAYOR DE SIETE AÑOS, Y LOS ARTÍCULOS SELECCIONADOS SE SOMETIERON A UNA LECTURA CRÍTICA, UTILIZANDO EL SISTEMA GRADE PARA ASIGNAR LA FUERZA DE RECOMENDACIÓN.RESULTADOS: MUESTRA QUE DEL TOTAL DE 10 ARTÍCULOS REVISADOS, EL 100% (N=10/10) DE ESTOS, MUESTRA QUE LA ESTABILIZACIÓN TEMPRANA DE FRACTURAS COMPARADO CON LA ESTABILIZACIÓN TARDÍA EN PACIENTES POLITRAUMATIZADOS ES EFECTIVA YA QUE SE PREVIENEN COMPLICACIONES, HAY DISMINUCIÓN DE COSTOS Y MENOS DÍAS HOSPITALARIOS.
