Level of knowledge of mothers about immunizations and compliance with the vaccine schedule in children under 1 year of age, at the “Santiago Apóstol” health center - 2022

Abstract

Regarding the development of this study, the purpose was established to find the existing link between mothers' knowledge about immunity and the execution of the vaccination schedule in infants under one year of age at the Santiago Apóstol Health Center - 2022. The methodology applied was applied with a hypothetical deductive method and a quantitative approach in a sample of 56 mothers with children under one year of age who are cared for at the Santiago Apóstol Health Center to whom a questionnaire was administered. to evaluate knowledge about vaccination and an observation sheet to determine the execution of the vaccination schedule. The results showed the existence of a significance of less than 0.05, in addition to a Spearman's Rho coefficient of .913; which allowed us to conclude with the existence of a direct and positive link between mothers' knowledge about immunizations and compliance with the vaccination schedule in children under 1 year of age at the Santiago Apóstol Health Center - 2022.

En cuanto al desarrollo del presente estudio, se estableció como finalidad hallar cuál es el vínculo existente de los conocimientos de las madres acerca de inmunidad y la ejecución del calendario de vacunas en infantes menores de un año en el Centro de Salud Santiago Apóstol – 2022. La metodología aplicada fue de tipo aplicada con un método hipotético deductivo y un enfoque cuantitativo en una muestra de 56 madres de familia con niños menores de un año que se atienden en el Centro de Salud Santiago Apóstol a los que se les realizó un cuestionario para evaluar los conocimientos sobre vacunación y una ficha de observación para determinar la ejecución del calendario de vacunas. Los resultados arrojaron la existencia de una significancia inferior a 0.05, además de un coeficiente Rho de Spearman de ,913; lo que permitió concluir con la existencia de un vínculo directo y positivo de los conocimientos de las madres sobre inmunizaciones con el cumplimiento del calendario de vacunas en niños menores de 1 año en el Centro de Salud Santiago Apóstol – 2022.
