Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of a educational intervention of 3 months duration at the levels of hemoglobin of children from 6 to 35 months of age with anemia, treated in 2 health facilities in the San Juan de Lurigancho district. A sample of 122 children was taken from the Project database “Zero Anemia.” Median hemoglobin before intervention was 10.4g/dL and after the intervention it was 11.4g/dL, being the statistically significant difference.

El presente estudio tuvo por objetivo determinar el efecto de una intervención educativa de 3 meses de duración en los niveles de hemoglobina de niños de 6 a 35 meses de edad con anemia, atendidos en 2 establecimientos de salud del distrito de San Juan de Lurigancho. Se tuvo una muestra de 122 niños de la base de datos del Proyecto “Anemia Cero”. La mediana de hemoglobina antes de la intervención fue de 10.4g/dL y después de la intervención fue de 11.4g/dL, siendo la diferencia estadísticamente significativa.
