Quality of palliative care and satisfaction of chronically critical patients in the intermediate care unit of a private clinic, 2023

Abstract

The present academic work aims to determine the relationship between the effectiveness of palliative care and the satisfaction of chronic critical patients in the intermediate care unit in a private clinic, in the district of San Isidro, Lima-Peru, 2023. Where A hypothetical deductive method was used, with a quantitative approach, a type of applied research with a non-experimental design and a cross section. For the population, sample and sample, the patients of the intermediate care unit were taken into account, having an average of 80 beds (80 patients/or relatives representing the patient), taking into account that the total population will be taken, not sample will be used. Two questionnaires were used, the first focused on measuring the quality of palliative care variable with 16 questions adapted in four supports where the dimensions effectiveness, efficiency, accessibility and acceptability can be distinguished. While the second measures the variable patient satisfaction with 19 items in its dimensions communication, professional attitudes, technical competence, climate of trust and patient perception of their individuality.

El presente trabajo académico tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre la efectividad de los cuidados paliativos y la satisfacción de los pacientes críticos crónicos de la unidad de cuidados intermedios en una clínica privada, en el distrito de San Isidro, Lima-Perú, 2023. Donde se utilizó un método hipotético deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, un tipo de investigación aplicada con diseño no experimental y con corte transversal. Para la población, muestra y muestro, se tomó en cuenta los pacientes de la unidad de cuidado intermedios, teniendo un promedio de 80 camas (80 pacientes), tomando en cuenta que se tomará la población en total, no se utilizará muestra. Se utilizaron dos cuestionarios, el primero enfocado en medir la variable calidad de atención de los cuidados paliativos con 16 preguntas adaptadas en cuatro apoyos donde se puede distinguir las dimensiones efectividad, eficiencia, accesibilidad y aceptabilidad. Mientras que el segundo, mide la variable satisfacción del paciente con 19 ítems en sus dimensiones comunicación, actitudes profesiones, competencia técnica, clima de confianza y percepción del paciente de su individualidad
