Risk factors related to in-hospital infections of patients in the intensive care unit of a private clinic in Lima, 2024

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To determine the risk factors related to in-hospital infections of patients in the Intensive Care Unit of a Private Clinic in Lima, 2024. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The method will be hypothetical-deductive, quantitative approach, non-experimental, cut-off transversal and correlational level. The population will be made up of 80 patients who present some hospital-acquired infection. Regarding data collection, the documentary review technique will be used for both study variables, since a review of medical records will be carried out. As an instrument, a comparison sheet will be used from Castro's work in 2023; Likewise, a guide for documentary analysis of the incidence of hospital-acquired infections will be used from the Napa work in 2022, both instruments applied at the national level. The validation of the 1st instrument was based on expert judgment with 95% probability and for the 2nd instrument by 5 experts' judgment, with multiple point distance, where the result was 1.77. In the case of reliability, the 1st instrument was approved through the Kuder-Richardson test with a result of 0.780 and for the 2nd instrument through the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient with a value of 0.87. The analysis of the data will be done through inferential non-parametric statistics, since two hypotheses have been established about the value of a parameter, where the correlation of variables will be sought using a Spearman's rho test to measure said correlation.

Objetivo: Determinar cuáles son los factores de riesgo relacionados a las infecciones intrahospitalarias de los pacientes en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos de una Clínica Privada de Lima, 2024. Materiales y métodos: El método será hipotéticodeductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental, corte trasversal y nivel correlacional. La población estará conformada por 80 pacientes que presenten alguna infección intrahospitalaria. Respecto a la recopilación de los datos, para ambas variables de estudio se utilizará la técnica de revisión documental, ya que se hará una revisión de historias clínicas. Como instrumento se utilizará una ficha de cotejo desde el trabajo de Castro y col. del año 2023; asimismo se utilizará una guía de análisis documentario de incidencia de las infecciones intrahospitalarias desde el trabajo de Napa del año 2022, ambos instrumentos aplicados a nivel nacional. La validación del 1° instrumento contó con por juicio de expertos en 95% de probabilidad y para el 2° instrumento por juicio de 5 expertos, con distancia del punto múltiple, donde el resultado fue 1.77. En el caso de la confiablidad el 1° instrumento fue aprobado por medio de la prueba Kuder-Richardson con un resultado del 0.780 y para el 2° instrumento por medio del coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach con valor de 0,87. En el análisis de los datos se hará por medio de estadística no paramétrica inferencial, ya que se han establecidos dos hipótesis sobre el valor de un parámetro, donde se buscará la correlación de variables mediante una prueba de rho de Spearman para medir dicha correlación.
