Conditions of dialyzer reuse associated with hepatitis B and C infections in a private renal clinic in Lima, 2017

Abstract

Objective: Determine the conditions of dialyzer reuse, associated with hepatitis B and C infections in the private renal clinic in 2017. Materials and Methods: The study was quantitative, descriptive, correlational. The population is 50 hemodialyzed patients with a comprehensive health, the instruments used were the checklist for the two variables, it was evaluated with logistic regression models. Results: Through the analysis it was possible to determine the conditions of reuse of hepatitis infection, no significant relationships were found and in relation to hepatitis infection, 12% had HBV, 32% had HCV and 34% had at least one of these infections. In relation to the conditions of reuse, none of them are significantly related to the diagnosis of hepatitis B or C. Pyrogenic reactions are not associated with the diagnosis of hepatitis (p value = 0.914), which is also verified in the odd ratio equal to 0. .94 (0.29-3.03) which shows that there is no relationship since the confidence interval includes the value one. Similarly, the variables: risk of infection is not associated with the diagnosis of hepatitis (p value = 0.955), it was concluded that the conditions of dialyzer reuse are not associated with Hepatitis B and C infections.

Objetivo: Determinar las condiciones del reúso del dializador, asociado a infecciones por hepatitis B y C en la clínica renal privada 2017. Materiales y Métodos: El estudio fue de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo correlacional, La población es de 50 pacientes hemodializados con sistema integral de salud, los instrumentos utilizados fueron la lista de cotejo para las dos variables, se evaluó con modelos de regresión logística. Resultados: A través del análisis se pudo determinar las condiciones de reúso de infección por hepatitis no se encontraron relaciones significativas y en relación a la infección por hepatitis, el 12% tenía VHB, 32% tenía VHC y 34% tenía por lo menos una de estas infecciones. En relación a las condiciones de reúso ninguno de ellos se relaciona significativamente con el diagnóstico de hepatitis B o C. Las reacciones pirógenas no se asocian con el diagnóstico de hepatitis (valor p = 0,914), también se verifica en el odd ratio igual a 0,94 (0,29-3,03) que evidencia que no existe relación dado que el intervalo de confianza incluye al valor uno. De modo similar las variables: riesgo de infección no se asocia con el diagnóstico de hepatitis (valor p = 0,955), se concluyó qué las condiciones de reúso del dializador no se asocian a las infecciones por Hepatitis B y C.
