Resumen
Objective: “To determine the relationship between knowledge about type 2 diabetes mellitus and self-care practices in older adults at a hospital in Lima, 2024.” The population will consist of 80 older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, belonging to the non-communicable diseases strategy at a hospital in Lima. The sampling method will be non-probabilistic by convenience. Methodological Design: The type of research will be applied. The design will be observational, descriptive, correlational, prospective, and cross-sectional. To analyze knowledge, a questionnaire with 4 dimensions will be used, with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.827. For the variable of practices, a Likert scale with a Cronbach's alpha >0.7 will be used. The study technique will be a survey. Statistical Processing and Data Analysis: This will be carried out through descriptive techniques and frequencies expressed as percentages. The statistical analysis will depend on the data distribution and will use parametric tests (Pearson’s correlation) or non-parametric tests (Chi-square).
Resumen
Objetivo: “Determinar la relación entre conocimiento sobre diabetes mellitus tipo 2 y prácticas de autocuidado en adultos mayores de un hospital de Lima, 2024”, La población estará conformada por 80 adultos mayores con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 perteneciente a la estrategia de daños no transmisibles en un hospital de Lima. El tipo de muestreo será no probabilístico por conveniencia. Diseño Metodológico: El tipo de investigación será aplicada. Diseño será observacional, descriptivo, correlacional, prospectivo y transversal. Para analizar el conocimiento se utilizará un cuestionario de 4 dimensiones, con un alpha de crombach 0,827. Para la variable prácticas se utilizará una escala tipo Likert con un alpha de crombach >0,7. La técnica de estudio será la encuesta. Procesamiento estadístico y análisis de datos: se ejecutará a través de técnicas descriptivas y frecuencias mediante porcentajes, el análisis estadístico será según sea su distribución a través de pruebas estadísticas paramétricas (Correlación de Pearson) o no paramétricas (Chi-cuadrado).
