Level of burnout syndrome in the nursing staff of the neonatology department of a hospital in Lima - 2020

Abstract

Currently, the pace of work in the health field has increased exponentially, due to various factors, among which the pandemic caused by COVID-19 stands out, generating a high degree of stress in the nursing staff who They work in various institutions, a situation that exposes them to being affected by Burnout Syndrome. Given this panorama, it is necessary to investigate, to have updated information that allows taking actions aimed at preventing or reducing the presence of this condition, since it can harm them, the babies in their care, their families and society as a whole. OBJECTIVE: determine the level of Burnout Syndrome in the nursing staff of the neonatology service of a hospital in Lima, 2020. MATERIALS AND METHODS: research with a quantitative, basic and descriptive approach, since it seeks to make known in the most precise way possible the characteristics of the Burnout Syndrome variable in nursing and cross-sectional personnel. The population will be 50 members of the nursing staff of the neonatology service of a hospital in Lima and the instrument that will be applied will be the questionnaire.

En la actualidad, el ritmo de trabajo en el ámbito de la salud se ha incrementado de manera exponencial, debido a diversos factores entre los que resalta la pandemia producida por la COVID-19, generando un alto grado de estrés en el personal de enfermería que labora en diversas instituciones, situación que los expone a verse afectados por el Síndrome de Burnout. Ante este panorama, se hace necesario investigar, para contar con información actualizada que permita tomar acciones orientadas a prevenir o disminuir la presencia de esta afección, ya que puede perjudicarlos a ellos, a los bebés que se encuentran a su cargo, a sus familias y a la sociedad en su conjunto. OBJETIVO: determinar el nivel del Síndrome de Burnout en el personal de enfermería del servicio de neonatología de un hospital de Lima, 2020. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: investigación con enfoque cuantitativo, básico y descriptivo, ya que busca dar a conocer de la manera más precisa posible las características de la variable de Síndrome de Burnout en el personal de enfermería y de corte transversal. La población será de 50 miembros del personal de enfermería del servicio de neonatología de un hospital de Lima y el instrumento que se aplicará será el cuestionario.
