Knowledge and attitudes of the nursing professional regarding the care of the patient with HIV-AIDS who attends the emergency service of a public hospital in Lima, 2022

Abstract

The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), this virus acts by attacking the body's defenses, this disease has affected many countries and currently represents one of the greatest concerns in different sectors of the government. Nursing professionals are the first line in the care of patients with HIV-AIDS, the knowledge that they may have about the disease will lead to the provision of human quality care. Likewise, it is important to highlight that there are studies that demonstrate that high levels of anxiety generate fear in health professionals regarding the contagion of this disease, which influences the attitudes that nursing staff may demonstrate while caring for patients with this disease. Nursing staff must carry out their profession with great responsibility and professional ethics.

El virus de inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH), este virus actúa atacando las defensas del organismo, esta enfermedad ha afectado a muchos países y en la actualidad implica una de las mayores preocupaciones en diferentes sectores del gobierno. Los profesionales de enfermería son la primera línea en la atención de pacientes con VIH-SIDA, los conocimientos que estos puedan tener sobre la enfermedad van a encaminar a que se brinde una atención con calidad humana, así mismo, es importante resaltar que hay estudios que demuestran que los altos niveles de ansiedad generan temor en los profesionales de salud con respecto al contagio de esta enfermedad, lo que influye en las actitudes que pueda demostrar el personal de enfermería durante la atención a pacientes que presentan esta enfermedad. El personal de enfermería debe desempeñar su profesión con gran responsabilidad y ética profesional.
