Relationship between level of knowledge and attitude in the care that nurses have regarding the kangaroo mother method in premature infants less than 1500 grams in the NICU service of the National Maternal Perinatal Institute Lima 2022

Abstract

Approximately twenty million babies with minimal birth weight are born worldwide annually as a result of premature labor, or due to problems in prenatal development; To this end, the Kangaroo Mother Method is implemented, whose main objective is to reduce infant mortality and prevent the effects of premature birth, based on exclusive breastfeeding, early stimulation, heat and skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby. The purpose of the research study was “to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes in the care of nurses regarding the kangaroo mother method of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Maternity of Lima, 2022.” The project under study works under the quantitative approach, method: hypothetical - deductive, applied type, and a non-experimental, cross-sectional correlational design. The population is made up of 75 graduate nurses from the “Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the National Maternal Perinatal Institute”. The technique to be used will be the survey and as an instrument the CORPUS questionnaire with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.934, and the MARQUEZ knowledge instrument with a Crombach's Alpha. If α = 0.5 or > the instrument is reliable. To determine the reliability of the device, the Crombach's Alpha coefficient of the directional device has been tested and measured at 0.50 in the attitude instrument.

Aproximadamente veinte millones de bebés con mínimo peso al nacer, nacen a nivel mundial anualmente consecuencia de trabajo de parto prematuro, o por problemas en el desarrollo prenatal; a esto se implementa el Método Madre Canguro que tiene como objetivo principal disminuir la mortalidad infantil y prevenir los efectos del parto prematuro, fundado en la lactancia materna exclusiva, estimulación temprana, calor y contacto piel a piel entre madre y bebe. El propósito de la investigación estudio fue “determinar la relación entre los conocimientos y las actitudes en el cuidado de las enfermeras sobre el método madre canguro de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales de la Maternidad de Lima, 2022”. El proyecto en estudio trabaja bajo el enfoque cuantitativo, método: hipotético - deductivo, de tipo aplicada, y un diseño no experimental, correlacional transversal. La población está constituida por 75 licenciados en enfermeras de la “Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales del Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal”. La técnica a utilizar será la encuesta y como instrumento el cuestionario CORPUS con un alfa de Cronbach de 0.934, y el instrumento de conocimiento de MARQUEZ con un Alpha de Crombach, Si el α = 0.5 ó > el instrumento es confiable. Para determinar la fiabilidad del dispositivo se ha probado y medido el coeficiente de Alpha de Crombach el dispositivo direccional es de 0.50 en el instrumento actitud.
