Knowledge about cardiac catheterization and patient anxiety in the hemodynamics room of a hospital in Lima-2023

Abstract

The patient's lack of knowledge about cardiac catheterization triggers anxiety in them, and this affects the preparation, intervention and post operative period of cardiac surgery. OBJECTIVE: To determine how knowledge about cardiac catheterization is related to patient anxiety in the catheterization room of a Hospital in Lima-2023. MATERIALS AND METHODS: An observational, correlational, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach is carried out in a sample of voluntary patients scheduled for cardiac catheterization in a catheterization room of a Hospital in Lima, the data collection technique will be the survey, the instrument of level of knowledge about self-care in patients who will undergo cardiac catheterization performed by Mendoza and the state/trait anxiety questionnaire (STAI) the data will be processed in the statistical program SPSS version 26, contingency tables will be built to apply descriptive statistics, and for the correlation, the chi-square or Student's t test will be applied, depending on the nature of the variable.

Determinar cómo el conocimiento sobre cateterismo cardiaco se relaciona con la ansiedad del paciente en la sala de hemodinamia de un Hospital de Lima-2023. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: se realiza un estudio observacional, correlacional de corte transversal con enfoque cuantitativo, en una muestra de pacientes voluntarios programados para cateterismo cardiaco en una sala de hemodinamia de un Hospital de Lima, la técnica de recolección de datos será la encuesta, se aplicará el instrumento de nivel de conocimiento en pacientes que serán sometido a cateterismo cardiaco realizado por Rocha, et al y el cuestionario de ansiedad estado/ rasgo (STAI) por Meza, los datos serán procesados en el programa estadístico SPSS versión 26 se construirán tablas de contingencia aplicara estadística descriptiva, y para la correlación se aplicara el test de chi cuadrado o t de Student según la naturaleza de la variable.
