Level of knowledge and its relationship with the practices of biosecurity measures of nursing staff in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Villa El Salvador - Lima 2023

Abstract

Biosafety is a well-known topic in the health area, however, there are many shortcomings in its execution. For this reason, the present research project has the objective of ¨Identifying the level of knowledge and its relationship with the practices of biosafety measures of the nursing staff of the intensive care unit of a hospital in Villa El Salvador in the year 2023¨, the route that will be taken to investigate the study will be quantitative, hypothetical deductive, descriptive and prospective. With a sample made up of 125 nursing graduates who work in the Intensive Care Unit of a Hospital in Villa el Salvador. inclusion and exclusion criteria will be applied. For data collection, two instruments validated by the author Meza Vilca (2019) will be applied in a study carried out in Peru, which are the Questionnaire for the level of knowledge and an Observation Sheet to verify the use of biosafety measures. Instrument that was submitted to an expert judgment, validated and with a reliability level of 0.95. Ultimately, the project will prioritize ethical considerations such as autonomy, beneficence, and justice throughout the development process.

La bioseguridad es un tema muy conocido en el área de salud, sin embargo, existen muchas falencias en su ejecución. Por este motivo, el proyecto de investigación tiene como objetivo ¨Identificar el nivel de conocimiento y su relación con las prácticas de las medidas de bioseguridad del personal de enfermería de la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital de Villa el Salvador en el año 2023 ¨, la ruta que se tomará para investigar el estudio será cuantitativa, hipotética deductiva, descriptiva y prospectiva. Con una muestra constituida por 125 licenciados en enfermería que trabajan en la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital de Villa el Salvador. Se aplicará criterio de inclusión y exclusión. Para recolección de los datos se aplicarán dos instrumentos validados por el autor Meza Vilca (2019) en un estudio elaborado en Perú, los cuales son el Cuestionario para medir el nivel de conocimiento y una Ficha de Observación para verificar el uso de las medidas de bioseguridad. Instrumento que fue sometido a un juicio de experto, validados y con un nivel de confiabilidad de 0.95. Finalmente, el proyecto priorizará consideraciones éticas como autonomía, beneficencia y justicia a lo largo del proceso de desarrollo.
