Level of emotional overload and resilience in family caregivers of adolescent hospitalization patients in the mental health area of ​​the Edgardo Rebagliati Hospital, 2022

Abstract

The present study called "Level of emotional overload and resilience in family caregivers of adolescent patients hospitalized in the mental health area of the Edgardo Rebagliati Hospital, 2022" aims to determine the relationship between emotional overload and resilience in family caregivers of adolescent hospitalized patients, from the mental health area of the Edgardo Rebagliati Hospital, the present research uses the deductive method with a quantitative approach, it is of an applied type and of a non-experimental design, cross-sectional. Prior to the execution of this study, the corresponding administrative procedures will be formalized and the participants will be asked for informed consent. The population is made up of 100 family caregivers of adolescent patients, this study contemplates the entire population for the research because it is a minimal amount and to whom the instruments of the Zarit scale and the Wagnild and Young Resilience scale will be applied, with 22 and 25 items respectively. The Zarit scale examines three dimensions: the impact of caregiving, interpersonal relationships, and self-efficacy expectations. The resilience scale examines five dimensions: self-confidence, perseverance, equanimity, personal satisfaction, and the dimension of feeling good alone. The results of both scales will be determined independently, and the relationship that overload exerts on resilience in the three dimensions that measure the level of overload of the family caregiver will also be analyzed. The information obtained will be tabulated and processed statistically, using the statistical packages Excel and SPSS 22.

El presente estudio denominado “Nivel de sobrecarga emocional y resiliencia en familiares cuidadores de los pacientes adolescentes de hospitalización del área de salud mental del Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati, 2022” tiene por objetivo determinar la relación entre la sobrecarga emocional y la resiliencia en familiares cuidadores de los pacientes adolescentes de hospitalización, del área de salud mental del Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati, la presente investigación usa el método deductivo con enfoque cuantitativo, es de tipo aplicada y de diseño no experimental, corte transversal. Previo a la ejecución del presente estudio se formalizará los trámites administrativos que correspondan y se les solicitará a los participantes un consentimiento informado. la población está conformada por 100 cuidadores familiares de los pacientes adolescentes, este estudio contempla la totalidad de la población para la investigación por ser una mínima cantidad y a los cuales se les aplicará los instrumentos de la escala Zarit y la escala de Resiliencia de Wagnild y Young, con 22 y 25 items respectivamente. la escala Zarit examina tres dimensiones: el impacto del cuidado, relación interpersonal y expectativas de autoeficacia. la escala de resiliencia, cinco dimensiones: la confianza en sí mismo, perseverancia, ecuanimidad, satisfacción personal y la dimensión sentirse bien solo. Se determinará los resultados de ambas escalas independientemente, y además, se analizará la relación que ejerce la sobrecarga en la resiliencia en las tres dimensiones que miden el nivel de sobrecarga del familiar cuidador. la información obtenida se tabulará y procesará estadísticamente, empleando el los paquetes estadísticos Excel y SPSS 22.
