Level of knowledge and practices of nursing staff in the prevention of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit of the hospital El Carmen – Huancayo 2024

Abstract

Objective: Analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practices of nursing staff in the prevention of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation in the Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital El Carmen – Huancayo 2024. Methodological Design: The method will be hypothetical-deductive, approach quantitative, non-experimental cross-sectional design and correlational scope. Population: The population will be made up of 56 nursing graduates who work in the Intensive Care Unit of the El Carmen Maternal and Child Hospital, Huancayo 2023. The type of sampling will be non-probabilistic for convenience and the sample universe will be made up of 56 nurses who represent the of the entire population, because in this type of sampling the sample is chosen according to the accessibility and proximity of the subjects to the researcher. Technique: the survey will be used in its questionnaire mode and an observation sheet. Instruments: A questionnaire containing multiple choice questions was used for the first variable and a checklist containing dichotomous questions for the second variable. Statistical processing and data analysis: Descriptive techniques will be applied to evaluate the frequency distribution of the variables and dimensions; and an inferential analysis will be carried out to test the hypothesis using Pearson's Spearman's Rho case as appropriate.

Objetivo: Analizar la relación del nivel de conocimiento con las prácticas del personal de enfermería en la prevención de neumonías asociados a ventilación mecánica en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital El Carmen – Huancayo 2024. Diseño Metodológico: El método será hipotético-deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental transversal y de alcance correlacional. Población; estará constituida por 17 licenciados en enfermería que trabajan en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Materno Infantil El Carmen. El tipo de muestreo será no probabilístico por conveniencia y el universo muestral estará constituida por 17 enfermeros que representa la totalidad de la población, debido a que en este tipo de muestreo la muestra es elegida de acuerdo a la accesibilidad y proximidad de los sujetos para el investigador. Técnica: se empleará la encuesta en su modalidad de cuestionario y una ficha de observación. Instrumentos: se utilizará cuestionario que contenía preguntas de opción múltiple para la primera variable y una lista de verificación que contenía preguntas dicotómicas para la segunda variable. Procesamiento estadístico y análisis de datos: se aplicará técnicas descriptivas para evaluar la distribución de frecuencias de las variables y dimensiones; y se realizará un análisis inferencial para probar la hipótesis empleando según sea el caso Rho de Spearman de Pearson.
