Level of knowledge about neonatal screening and attitudes of mothers in a hospital 2023

Abstract

Introduction: A newborn is fragile, defenseless, dependent and requires specialized care to prevent diseases that are not evident at birth, but become manifest as the child grows. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of mothers about neonatal screening in a hospital 2023. Methods: The study will present a hypothetical-deductive method, quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental design and transversal cut. The population will be composed of 93 mothers of newborns in a hospital 2023 The survey will be used as a technique and the knowledge questionnaire and the attitude questionnaire will be used as instruments, which were evaluated on a Likert scale. The data collected will be processed in SPSS 26, which will allow testing the hypothesis through the use of a Spearman correlation coefficient given its qualitative nature to evaluate the correlation of the variables.

Introducción: Un recién nacido es frágil, indefenso, dependiente y requiere un cuidado especializado para prevenir las enfermedades que no son evidentes desde el nacimiento, sino que se van haciendo manifiestas a medida que el niño crece. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y actitudes en las madres sobre el tamizaje neonatal en un Hospital 2023. Métodos: el estudio presentará un método hipotético – deductivo, de enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, de diseño no experimental y corte transversal. La población estará conformada por 93 madres de recién nacidos de un Hospital 2023. Se utilizará como técnica a la encuesta y por instrumento al cuestionario de conocimiento y al cuestionario de actitudes que fueron evaluados en una escala Likert. Los datos recolectados serán procesados en SPSS 26, lo que permitirá probar la hipótesis mediante el uso de un coeficiente de correlación de Spearman dado su naturaleza cualitativa para evaluar la correlación de las variables.
