Practice of complementary feeding and iron deficiency anemia in children, 6 to 24 months of the Jerusalem Hospital, Trujillo, 2023

Abstract

Introduction: the practice of complementary feeding begins after six of age and it is evident that there are few children who receive adequate food, therefore, an incorrect administration of complementary feeding Will lead to their presenting iron deficiency anemia. Objective: To determine the relationship between complementary feeding practices and iron deficiency anemia in children aged six to twenty-two months, from the health center, Trujillo, 2023. Methods: an applied study, with a quantitative and correlational approach. The census sample Will be made up of eighty mothers os children aged six to twenty-three from the Jerusalem hospital, Trujillo. A questionnaire consisting of thirteen items Will be used for the target population, these are validating and reliable to measure these variables. Statistical data Will be processed in SPSS twenty - five and hypotheses Will be tested using Spearmans correlation coefficient statistical test given the nature of the variables.

Introducción: la práctica de alimentación complementaria, se inicia a partir de los 6 meses de edad y se evidencia, que son pocos los niños que reciben de manera adecuada la alimentación, por ello, una incorrecta administración en la alimentación complementaria llevará a que estos presenten anemia ferropénica. Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre las prácticas de alimentación complementaria y la anemia ferropénica en niños de 6 a 24 meses, del centro de Salud, Trujillo, 2023. Métodos: estudio de tipo aplicado, con enfoque cuantitativo y correlacional. La muestra censal estará constituida por 80 madres de niños de 6 a 24 meses del hospital Jerusalén, Trujillo. Se utilizará un cuestionario que consta de 13 items para la población objetivo, estas están validados y son confiables para medir dichas variables. Los datos estadísticos serán procesados en SPSS 25 y las hipótesis se probarán usando prueba estadística de coeficiente de correlación de Spearman dado la naturaleza de las variables.
