Effectiveness of an educational intervention for parents on the acceptability of the human papillomavirus vaccine in children aged 9 to 13

Abstract

Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. They are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, and those selected were subjected to critical reading, using the grade system to assign recommendation strength. In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, it was found that 40% (04/10) correspond to the United Kingdom, with 30% (03/10) the United States, while 10% (01/10) are Canada, Australia and the People's Republic of China respectively. Results: Of the total number of articles analyzed, 60% affirm that educational interventions for parents about the HPV vaccine for boys and girls are effective, in relation to the acceptability of the vaccination. Conclusions: It was evident in the reviewed research that there is effectiveness of educational interventions for parents of boys and girls on the acceptability of the HPV vaccine.

Materiales y Métodos: Revisión Sistemática observacional y retrospectivo, que sintetiza los resultados de múltiples investigaciones primarias. Son parte esencial de la enfermería basada en la evidencia por su rigurosa metodología, identificando los estudios relevantes para responder preguntas específicas de la práctica clínica, la búsqueda se ha restringido a artículos con texto completo, y los seleccionados se sometieron a una lectura crítica, utilizando el sistema grade para asignar la fuerza de recomendación. En la selección definitiva se eligieron 10 artículos, se encontró que el 40% (04/10) corresponden al Reino Unido, con un 30% (03/10) Estados Unidos, mientras que con un 10% (01/10) se encuentran Canadá, Australia y la República Popular de China respectivamente. Resultados: Del total de artículos analizados el 60% afirma que son efectivas las intervenciones educativas a padres sobre la vacuna contra el VPH a niños y niñas, en lo referente a la aceptabilidad de la vacunación. Conclusiones: Se evidenció en las investigaciones revisadas que existe efectividad de las intervenciones educativas a padres de niños y niñas sobre la aceptabilidad de la vacuna contra el VPH.
