Knowledge and preventive practices of breast cancer of users in a hospital in Lima - 2023

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge and preventive practices of breast cancer of nursing professionals in a hospital in Lima - Peru, 2023. Methodology: The research has a quantitative approach design, hypothetical-deductive method, applied type, nonexperimental design, cross-sectional and correlational level. Population: 100 women attending the hospitalization service of a hospital in Lima, Peru will be considered. The technique to be used for this study will be the survey and the instrument will be the questionnaire for both variables. For this variable, an instrument validated in Peru by July Burga in an investigation carried out in Pimentel in 2023 will be used. Both instruments by Kuder Richardson test reliability receiving a score of 0,856 for the variable knowledge about breast cancer and 0,820 for the variable preventive practices about breast cancer. The data will be tabulated to produce the necessary statistics and, if necessary, interpreted by means of tables and graphs. Finally, the degree of relationship between the two variables will be evaluated by means of Spearman's coefficient, which will provide an answer to the stated objective.

El propósito de este estudio radica en investigar la relación entre el nivel de conocimientos y las prácticas de prevención del cáncer de mama de las usuarias que son atendidas en el área de hospitalización de un establecimiento de salud de un hospital de Lima - Perú, 2023. La investigación tiene un diseño de enfoque cuantitativo, método hipotético-deductivo, tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental, corte transversal y nivel correlacional. Se considerarán 100 mujeres que asisten al servicio de hospitalización de un establecimiento de salud de Lima – Perú. La técnica que se usará para este estudio será la encuesta y el instrumento será el cuestionario para ambas variables. Finalmente, se evaluará el grado de relación entre ambas variables mediante el coeficiente de Spearman, que dará respuesta al objetivo planteado.
