Early stimulation level and psychomotor development in children under 1 year of age treated in a health center, Huaral 2022

Abstract

Early stimulation implies a variety of strategies, tactics and activities that constitute one of the priority tools for improving the development of the child population. In addition, it is crucial in the psychomotor development of the child, as well as his cognitive development; facilitating very useful learning during his life. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of early stimulation and psychomotor development in children under 1 year of age treated at a Health Center, Huaral 2022. Methods: quantitative approach, hypothetical deductive method, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design. The population will be made up of mothers of children under 1 year of age treated in a health center, Huaral. The sample will be equal to the population. The instrument to assess knowledge about early stimulation was developed by Cajusol et al., in their thesis. This instrument consists of 18 questions divided into 2 dimensions: generalities and specific concepts about the 4 areas. For the evaluation of psychomotor development, the Peruvian Development Evaluation Test for Children 0-30 months was ensured, which the Ministry of Health prepared in 2017. This test evaluates psychomotor development in 5 areas: motor, language, social, visual-motor, intelligence-learning.

La estimulación temprana implica una variedad de estrategias, tácticas y actividades que constituye una de las herramientas prioritarias para la mejora del desarrollo de la población infantil. Además, es crucial en el desarrollo psicomotor del niño, así como su desarrollo cognitivo; facilitando aprendizajes muy útiles durante su vida. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de estimulación temprana y desarrollo psicomotor en menores de 1 año atendidos en un Centro de Salud, Huaral 2022. Métodos: Estudio de tipo enfoque cuantitativo, método hipotético deductivo, diseño no experimental, transversal y correlacional. La población estará integrada por las madres de menores de 1 año atendidos en un centro de Salud, Huaral. La muestra será igual a la población. El instrumento para evaluar los conocimientos sobre estimulación temprana, fue desarrollado por Cajusol y colaboradores. Dicho instrumento consta de 18 preguntas divididas en 2 dimensiones: generalidades y conceptos específicos sobre las 4 áreas. Para la evaluación del desarrollo psicomotor se utilizará el test Peruano de Evaluación de desarrollo del Niño 0-30 meses, cuya elaboración estuvo a cargo del Ministerio de Salud en el año 2017. Dicho test evalúa el desarrollo psicomotor en 5 áreas, motora, lenguaje, social, viso-motor, inteligencia-aprendizaje.
