Level of knowledge about oral health through the use of a virtual educational tool in the Educational Institution No. 0633 Puerto Pizana, Lima- 2020.

Abstract

The main objective of this research was to determine the level of knowledge about oral health through the use of a virtual educational tool at I.E. No. 0633 Puerto Pizana, Lima, 2020. The methodology was quasi-experimental, prospective, and longitudinal. The instrument used was a questionnaire with 16 questions across four dimensions evaluating: the level of knowledge in oral hygiene, preventive measures, oral diseases, and oral health concepts. The results showed that, prior to using the virtual educational tool, most students had a high level of knowledge (92.3%), followed by a regular level (5.8%), and a deficient level (1.9%). After using the virtual educational tool, 81.7% demonstrated a high level of knowledge, while 18.3% had a regular level. In conclusion, the study demonstrated that the levels of knowledge were predominantly high and regular both before and after the use of the virtual educational tool. However, no statistically significant difference was found, with p=0.567, which is greater than p=0.05.

El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como principal objetivo determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre salud bucal salud mediante el uso de una herramienta educativa virtual en la I.E No 0633 Puerto Pizana, Lima-2020.La metodología fue de tipo cuasi experimental, prospectivo y de tipo longitudinal, el instrumento utilizado fue un cuestionario de 16 preguntas, de cuatro dimensiones donde se evaluó: El nivel de conocimiento en higiene oral, las medidas preventivas ,enfermedades bucales y conceptos de salud bucal. Los resultados obtenidos demostraron que, en su mayoría, el nivel de conocimiento de los alumnos de la I.E No 0633 Puerto Pizana, antes del uso de una herramienta educativa virtual es alto en un 92.3%, seguido del nivel regular en un 5.8% y finalmente un nivel deficiente en un 1.9%, y también el nivel de conocimiento después del uso de una herramienta educativa virtual, es alto en un 81.7%, seguido del nivel regular en un 18.3%, por lo tanto, concluimos, que el estudio realizado demostró que los resultados obtenidos, del nivel de conocimiento es alto y regular, antes y después de la herramienta educativa virtual, sin embargo, no hubo diferencia estadísticamente significativa con p= 0 ,567 siendo mayor que P=0.05.
