dc.description.abstractColon cancer is in first place in the case of cancer morbidities. It is estimated that each year one million new diagnoses and half a million deaths are identified. It should be noted that it is a type of cancer that is associated with obesity and dietary patterns, including low consumption of dietary fiber. The objective of the present review was to know the effect of consuming whole grains on the prevention of colorectal cancer. The principles of evidence-based nutrition were used as a methodology. A systematic search was carried out in 5 databases, Scopus, WOS, Pubmed, Embase and Science Direct, from the last 5 years, to answer the research question related to the consumption of whole grains and the risk of colorectal cancer in adults. After the selection of articles, they were evaluated through a critical reading tool to determine the degree of recommendation and level of evidence. It was found that the consumption of whole grains is associated with a reduction in the risk of colorectal cancer in different percentages, depending on the intake, which is detailed in the critical comment.en_US
