Pain management and quality of life of patients with cervical cancer in the emergency unit of a specialized oncology institute, Lima 2023

Abstract

Introduction: Pain is undoubtedly a worldwide emergency with great impact many years ago until today, at the same time it is one of the main symptoms that occurs in any type of disease especially when we talk about patients with cervical cancer, decreasing the quality of life, at the physical level , psychological, social and family ; Because of this problem, patients are directed to the oncological emergency units for the adequate pharmacological management of pain, whether or not they want cervical cancer does not discriminate sex, race or social condition, therefore it affects their quality of life together with pain, whether mild moderate or severe. The objective of this project will be: To determine the relationship between pain management and quality of life of patients with cervical cancer. Method: it will be hypothetical deductive, with a quantitative descriptive approach, with a non-experimental design of observational, correlational and cross-sectional level. The study population will be made up of a total of 60 patients with cervical cancer who come to the emergency service of a Lima 2023 Specialized Oncology Institute. For data collection, the technique to be used will be the survey and the instrument a questionnaire for both variables. The study used the instrument of Flores Morales Josefina to determine pain management and to measure the Quality of Life that of Candiotti Guzmán Cynthia Fiorella. The results obtained will be collected and processed in a matrix table in Microsoft Excel 2021 and then processed using the statistical package SPSS version 27.

El dolor sin duda es considerada una emergencia a nivel mundial con gran impacto hace muchos años hasta la actualidad , a la vez es uno de los principales síntomas que se presenta en cualquier tipo de enfermedad sobre todo cuando hablamos de pacientes con cáncer de cérvix, disminuyendo la calidad de vida, a nivel físico, psicológico, social y familiar ; por este problema los pacientes se dirigen a las unidades de emergencias para el manejo farmacológico adecuado del dolor, este sea leve moderado o severo. El Objetivo Determinar la relación existente entre manejo del dolor y la calidad de vida de pacientes con cáncer de cérvix. Método será hipotético deductivo, de enfoque cuantitativo descriptivo, con un diseño no experimental de nivel observacional, correlacional y de corte transversal. La población estará conformada por 60 pacientes con cáncer de cérvix que acuden al servicio de emergencia de un Instituto Oncológico Especializado Lima 2023. Para la recolección de datos la técnica a utilizar será la encuesta y el instrumento un cuestionario para ambas variables. Los resultados obtenidos serán recolectados y procesados en una tabla matriz en el Microsoft Exel 2021 y luego serán procesados mediante el paquete estadístico SPSS versión 27
