Anxiety and burnout syndrome in nurses from the intensive care unit of a clinic in Lima during the pandemic, 2021.

Abstract

This research falls within the specialty of nursing in the intensive care unit, focusing on the issues of anxiety and Burnout Syndrome among nurses working in this context, particularly during the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, given its significant impact on the health and lives of the entire population, especially healthcare personnel, whose responsibilities often exceed their physical, mental, and emotional coping capacity. OBJECTIVE: To determine the relationship between anxiety and Burnout Syndrome in nurses working in the intensive care unit of a clinic in Lima during the pandemic in 2021. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The research has a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational scope and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The sample will consist of 25 nurses. The technique will be a survey, and the instruments applied will be the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI).

Esta investigación se enmarca dentro de la especialidad de enfermería en la unidad de cuidados intensivos, centrándose en la problemática de la ansiedad y el Síndrome de Burnout por parte de los enfermeros que laboran en este contexto, especialmente durante el periodo de pandemia generado por el virus SARS-Cov-2, dado el gran impacto que tiene en la salud y la vida de toda la población, especialmente en el personal sanitario, cuyas responsabilidades muchas veces exceden su capacidad de afrontamiento físico, mental y emocional. OBJETIVO: determinar cuál es la relación entre ansiedad y Síndrome de Burnout en enfermeros de la unidad de cuidados intensivos de una clínica de Lima durante la pandemia, 2021. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: la investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, con alcance descriptivo-correlacional y diseño no experimental, transversal. La muestra estará conformada por 25 enfermeros. La técnica será la encuesta y los instrumentos que se aplicarán serán la Escala de Autoevaluación de la Ansiedad de Zung y el Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI).
