Dry socket and its relationship with working time in patients treated in the dental area of ​​the FAP Las Palmas hospital during the second quarter of 2019.

Abstract

An observational, retrospective, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted with a descriptive level. The population consisted of 257 adult patients aged 18 to 61 years who visited the FAP Las Palmas Hospital during the second quarter of 2019. A data collection form was used to record age, gender, quadrant of simple extraction, work time in minutes, and the presence of dry socket at the follow-up date. The results showed that 4.7% of the patients developed dry socket. It was concluded that dry socket had a statistically significant relationship with the work time in patients treated in the dentistry area of FAP Las Palmas Hospital during the second quarter of the year 2019.

Se realizó un estudio de tipo observacional, retrospectivo, transversal y correlacional; con un nivel descriptivo. La población estuvo conformada por 257 pacientes adultos de 18 a 61 años que asisten al Hospital FAP las Palmas durante el segundo trimestre del año 2019, para la evaluación se empleó una ficha de recolección donde se especificó la edad, el género, el cuadrante de la exodoncia simple, el tiempo de trabajo en minutos y la presencia de alveolitis seca en la fecha de control. En los resultados se observó que los pacientes que presentaron alveolitis seca fue 4,7%. Concluyendo que la alveolitis seca presentó una relación estadísticamente significativa con el tiempo de trabajo en pacientes atendidos en el área de odontología del Hospital FAP las Palmas durante el segundo trimestre del año 2019.
