Knowledge and attitudes towards the prevention of STIs/HIV-AIDS, in students of I and II cycle of the academic professional school of nursing of the Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes towards the prevention of STI/HIV-AIDS of the students of the I and II cycle of the Professional Academic School of Nursing of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Norbert Wiener Private University. 2016. Materials and methods: The present research study is quantitative, cross-sectional correlational descriptive type, the population was made up of 316 students and the convenience sample was 30 students. Simple random probabilistic sampling was carried out, the survey was used as a technique and the questionnaire was: the survey, prepared by the researchers. Results: Regarding the level of knowledge in nursing students of the 1st and 2nd Cycle of the Nursing EAP of the Norbert Wiener Private University about Sexually Transmitted Infections-HIV/AIDS. Of the 100% (n=30) of students surveyed, 13% (4) have a High Level of Knowledge, 47% (14) have a Medium Level of Knowledge and 40% (12) have a Low Level of Knowledge . Regarding the attitudes of nursing students in the 1st and 2nd Cycle of the Nursing EAP of the Norbert Wiener Private University towards the prevention of STIs/HIV-AIDS, of the total of 30 (100%) of the students surveyed. It is observed that 23% (7) of the students have a Bad Attitude, 60% (18) of the students have a Regular Attitude and 17% (5) of the students have a Good Attitude. conclusion: There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes in nursing students of the 1st and 2nd Cycle of the EAP of Nursing at the Norbert Wiener Private University, on Sexually Transmitted Infections-HIV/, a correlation positive moderate Spearman R 0.802 and p value 0.003.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación del nivel de conocimientos y las actitudes hacía la prevención de ITS/VIH-SIDA de los estudiantes del I y II ciclo de la Escuela Académica Profesional de Enfermería de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener 2016. Materiales y métodos: El presente estudio de investigación es cuantitativo, tipo descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal, la población estuvo conformada por 316 alumnos y la muestra por conveniencia de 30 estudiantes. Se realizó el muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple, se utilizó como técnica la encuesta y el fue el cuestionario: la encuesta, elaborado por las investigadoras. Resultados: Respecto al nivel de conocimientos en los estudiantes de enfermería de 1° y 2° Ciclo de la EAP de Enfermería de la Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener sobre las Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual-VIH/SIDA. Del 100% (n=30) de estudiantes encuestados, el 13% (4) tiene un Nivel de Conocimiento Alto, el 47% (14) tiene un Nivel de Conocimiento Medio y el 40% (12) tiene un Nivel de Conocimiento Bajo. Referente a las actitudes de los estudiantes de enfermería de 1° y 2° Ciclo de la EAP de Enfermería de la Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener hacía la prevención de ITS/VIH-SIDA, del total de 30 (100%) de los estudiantes encuestados. Se observa que el 23% (7) de los estudiantes tiene una Actitud Mala, el 60% (18) de los estudiantes tiene una Actitud Regular y el 17% (5) de los estudiantes tiene una Actitud Buena. conclusion: Hay una relación estadísticamente significativa del nivel de conocimientos y las actitudes en los estudiantes de enfermería de 1° y 2° Ciclo de la EAP de Enfermería de la Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, sobre las Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual-VIH/, una correlación positiva moderada R Spearman 0,802 y valor p 0,003.
